However, having many purposes can only be beneficial to a certain point, after which such purposes only serve to reduce the resource allocation. For instance, if you pursue a single purpose, you might become discouraged if the challenges and obstacles you face become too substantial to surmount. On the other hand, if you have multiple purposes, which are independent of each other, then the moment you encounter an obstacle or face a challenge in one purpose, you automatically shift your attention and focus to the other purpose. This shifting between life purposes can enhance your pursuit of purposeful living and might even increase your chances of obtaining positive results. Multiple purposes, however, may result in your constantly switching from one purpose to another, which can greatly hinder your progress. For a sensible and sustainable approach, you need a manageable number of life purposes to which you can allocate the adequate resources to and focus on so that you can reap the tangible benefits. Critical Elements of Purpose For you to live a purposeful life, some elements are essential. You must display consistent behavior. This serves as the motivating force that will help you overcome obstacles, maintain your focus, and seek alternative means irrespective of the changing environmental conditions. People that live a purposeful life are more consistent in their behaviors in both their public and private lives. You also must be psychologically flexible. This means that in light of changing demands, obstacles, and opportunities, your purpose enables you to be more flexible. Avoiding hardships by flexibly managing your environment, both psychological and physical, you will be able to experience fewer problems compared to those who live without purpose. Finally, purpose allows you to efficiently allocate the resources available to you, including the time and energy needed to pursue your purpose. Any other wasteful actions and behavior are kept at bay, and the resources they would have consumed are rerouted back to the purpose oriented activities. These elements can also be considered necessary ingredients to live a purposeful life. Without them, it becomes near impossible to discover and reach your purpose in life. Chapter 2 – Keys to Finding Your Passion Most people try to justify their failures and uncertainties in life to not having enough passion in one thing or another. This causes them to be in a continuous cycle of pursuing boring and uninteresting things. Contrary to popular belief, discovering what you love is not as challenging as it may seem. Passion is not a precious commodity that is reserved for a select few. Rather, it is a gift that everybody has been blessed with. The only thing we need to do to discover our passion is to have the right attitude. Work is supposed to be fun, so you must take the time to explore what you enjoy. Rather than viewing yourself as hopeless because you have yet to discover your passion, begin to visualize yourself being surrounded by endless possibilities. The reality is that the only limit you have to be doing what you love is your lack of imagination. To break through from this prison of uncertainty and lack of passion, some simple and straightforward keys will lead you to discover your purpose and meaning in life. Give Yourself the Opportunities Giving yourself the opportunities to be passionate is often seen as an ordinary and immaterial step for finding your passion, despite its incredible significance. The reason why you aren’t pursuing what you love might be because you don’t believe you deserve to be passionate about what you do. However, everyone has the right to be passionate about their pursuits in life. You need to wake up excited about your life because you have every right to do so. When you permit yourself to pursue what you do passionately, you will be in a much better position to help others as well. You need to modify your mental picture if you want to resonate, accept, and love what you do. The moment you can align your identity with your passion, it will become much easier for you to find fulfillment in the things you do in life. Allow Yourself to Explore There exists one true passion for every one of us, and everything else is not worth the effort and focus. This creates the all or nothing mindset. Unfortunately, the danger with this perspective is that it makes you miss other opportunities in your pursuit to live passionately. You have to understand that there is a spectrum of possibilities between your fulfillment and enjoyment in what you do. At one end of the spectrum is the work that you hate and can't do under every circumstance. The other end of the spectrum is the work that you love, and the mere thought of it brings you excitement and energy. Between these two points is a huge range of possibilities for work that bores you, work that makes you feel indifferent, work that challenges and stimulates you, and tasks that make you come alive with excitement. The best thing that you can do is to move toward the direction on the spectrum that makes you come alive. As you pursue what you love, you will come across options that will lead you to your ultimate life's purpose. The more aggressive and passionately you seek that work that excites you, the more efficient you will become at filtering out everything else that tends to drain your energy and distracts you from your desired outcome. One important thing to note is that you will have to grow accustomed to liking work first before you love it. Don't spend too much of your time and energy with an attitude that dreads work because it will blind you, deplete you, and turn you away from your passion. Look Closely at What You’re Doing The opportunities to do what we love is right in front of us. Unfortunately, we tend to think that we can't make a meaningful living out of what we do. When you can change your perspective, you might find the things that you've been looking down on are actually the most fascinating and exciting. Question Yourself In an attempt to figure out what they are passionate about, most people fail to ask themselves the powerful questions. You need to give yourself time and let go of other activities to allow yourself to engage with your passion.

Table of Contents Table of Contents 3 Introduction 5 Merch By Amazon Basics 7 Creating Products 11 Quick & Easy Merch Research 14 Creating Killer Designs 21 Designs That Sell 27 Submitting Designs 29 Final Words 35 Resources 37 Sample Content Preview Merch By Amazon Basics The first thing you need to do is register for an account with Merch by Amazon, which starts with requesting an invitation. You may have to wait up to a few weeks for your invitation, because the program is quite popular now, and you do need to show that you can make interesting designs before they will accept you. Additionally, there are some countries that are ineligible for the program, as you must have a bank account in an “eligible country” to accept payment. However, they don’t seem to list these countries publicly. Before you can submit your application and get approved, you’ll need to provide some information such as tax and banking information. Then you just need to wait for approval. Sometimes approval is very quick, and sometimes it can take weeks. Just keep trying to log in regularly, as some people have reported not receiving any notification of approval and only finding out they were approved by attempting to log in. Request an invitation and find out more here: >> https://merch.amazon.com/landing If you are rejected, they say you can’t apply again, however some people have successfully been approved by requesting an account with a different email address. But since they ask for your tax documentation and bank information during the application process, you may need not be able to directly apply. When you’re first approved, you will only be able to submit one design per day, up to a maximum of ten total products. I know this is a bummer, but it keeps people from flooding the site with thousands of low quality designs and hurting sales for everyone. Once you have 10 products submitted, you must get 10 total sales before you will “tier up”, which means they will move up to the next tier. Some people have reported being moved up with fewer than 10 sales, or even with none, but there’s no way to know why that happens to some people and not others. The next tier allows you to submit up to 3 per day for a total of 25 products. Once again, you’ll likely have to have 25 products approved and 25 sales before you can reach the next level. Again, this isn’t always set in stone. Additional tiers are reached at 100, 500, 1,000, 2,000, 4,000 and 8,000. There are reports that there may be a tier higher than 8,000, but if so there aren’t many people who have reached that level. The number of designs you can submit per day continues to scale, as well. There are a few different schools of thought regarding tiering up: You can just throw up anything for your first 10 designs and then buy them yourself. You can research niches and hot trends carefully and attempt to upload designs that will sell at least 10 quickly via organic traffic. You can promote your designs with various methods, such as creating designs for businesses and having them purchase them, or using social media or paid marketing. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter which way you choose. You can either wait patiently until you tier up naturally, which may mean removing designs that aren’t selling and replacing them with new ones. Creating Products Merch by Amazon has several different products available for you to design. While their selection isn’t nearly as extensive as other merch companies; they do focus on the styles that sell. This includes: t-shirts, premium t-shirts, hoodies, and the popular PopSockets. If you don’t know what Popsockets are, they are little discs that attach to the back of a phone or phone case that allow you to hold your phone more easily for texting or taking selfies, and can be used as a kickstand to hold your phone up on a surface for watching videos. PopSockets are selling really well right now so if you have a Merch by Amazon account you’ll want to jump on the bandwagon while they’re popular. All the other items, t-shirts, premium t-shirts and hoodies are hot sellers, especially if you design shirts around a specific demographic such as work at home mom’s, authors, tech-geeks, engineers, programmers, bloggers or even gamers. Keep in mind that premium t-shirts are typically purchased by women because they tend to be more fitted. And for those that are interested in designing t-shirts for kids and teens, Amazon also offers youth sizes. It’s a good idea to stick with standard t-shirts and PopSockets when you’re just starting out, as those seem to sell the best out of all available merch types. This will also give you the best shot at quickly tiering up, which will help you maximize your income as your shop grows. Speaking of “tiering up”, since you’re limited by how many designs you can upload a week, you’ll want to feature your very best designs in order to increase overall sales volume – which is what Amazon focuses on when advancing you from one tier to the next. Keep a pulse on popular terminology, inspirational messages that have gone viral, trends, and even funny memes as they’ll give you a good idea as to what is currently being shared through mainstream channels.

Some people may join your list just based on the content you share, but it’s a lot more likely that they’ll subscribe if you take the time to respond to their comments and interact with them. It will make them feel like they know you personally, and people typically respond well to this. Remember that some social networks can be directly integrated with some of the major autoresponder services, which will make it a whole lot easier to gain subscribers from those sites. Free with Shipping Another fantastic way to build a list that helps you get potential buyers onto your list, not just subscribers, is the “free with shipping” deal. Basically, you find an interesting, but inexpensive product that would appeal to your target demographic. Then you put up a one-page sales page offering people the product for “free” with shipping, but you charge enough for shipping to cover both the shipping and the cost of the item. The point is not to make a profit on the item. You’re breaking even, or even losing a small amount of money. But the cost of the item, after they pay the “shipping” charge, will be less than the average cost to obtain a subscriber through other methods. So, find an item that costs you less than $3 or so, find out exactly how much shipping will be on the item, and charge enough to cover both. You can pay less for shipping if you choose small, lightweight items that will let you ship in an envelope instead of a box. The item should also have a high perceived value, because you want people to be excited about getting the item for “free”. One great place to find items at an inexpensive price that you can resell is through AliExpress. >> https://www.AliExpress.com You’ll find a lot of items at wholesale prices here, many with free shipping, but be aware that they will take a long time to arrive from overseas. For this reason, it’s a good idea to buy a bunch upfront so that you can have them on hand to send out when people order so they don’t have to wait so long for shipping, however you can have them send the items directly to your buyers via drop shipping. You may want to limit the offer to people in your home country, as shipping overseas will take a while and be prohibitively expensive. Advanced Techniques Now let’s talk about some ways you can boost your subscriber base even more, through using special scripts and tactics. Popups Okay, I get it. People hate popups. But have you ever wondered why it seems like every website still uses them, even though their visitors seem to hate them so much? Well, it’s because they work! The fact is, popups can drastically increase the number of people who opt in to your list. Even a simple, generic looking popup can be remarkably effective. There are tons of great plugins and scripts that will let you put popups containing an opt-in box on your website or blog, so pick one you like the look of and implement it right away! Qualaroo People absolutely love giving their opinions, and Qualaroo will let you put a live survey on your website that lets people give their feedback. If you spend much time online, you’ve probably seen them in action. You can actually turn Qualaroo directly into an opt-in magnet by creating a survey that says something like: Would you like to sign up to our daily newsletter? Yes Already joined No If they click yes, a box will pop up that allows them to enter their email address. It’s that simple, and you’d be surprised just how effective it can be! Make It Obvious Another killer tactic for increasing conversions on your opt-in page or form is to offer people a second option to subscribing it, but to word it in such a way that it makes people feel like not subscribing would be a ridiculous mistake.

Just because your internet marketing business is online does not mean that you won’t have to work to make it a success. With any business you do whether online or not you have to be willing to work hard to get where you want your business to be. You can’t just do a little work and expect miracles because when you do that you will end up sorely disappointed. Even if you are only willing to do a little work every day on your business, you have to at least do something. The more effort you put into your business the more money you will make, and the more successful your business will be. You have to make as much effort on your business as you can every single day. Otherwise, you will never get anywhere with it. You have to be constantly learning about anything that affects your business, and advertising with three to five different methods at a time. You want to make sure that you don’t put all of your eggs in one basket, so to speak. The more methods you are using the more advertising success you will have. This is very important if you are going to have any kind of success. You have to learn how to work hard but also smart. This means that you need to do things that will help your business grow, and don’t let yourself be sidetracked by anything that will not help your business. Too many people start their internet marketing business believing that they will be successful and get rich quick over night. This has happened but it is very rare. This brings you to the next mistake that a lot of people make with any business they do. YOU WILL NOT GET RICH QUICK ONLINE You have heard about people who get online, start their business, and then make a ton of money right away. This can happen if you are very lucky but it is not likely to happen to you at all. Too many people hear about the people that it does happen to and think WOW I can do that. You might be one of the lucky ones that it will happen to but most of you will never have it happen. So you need to be realistic about doing a business online. You can get rich online very easily. However, you will have to work hard, be persistent, have patience, and have the attitude that no one and nothing is going to stop you from becoming successful. Most of the people who have already achieved success from their internet business, had to do the same thing to make it where they are today. When you have an internet marketing business you will be able to make as much money as you want to but it will take you some time to do. For some people it will take months and others it may take years. You need to realize that no matter how long it takes you, you will have to work for it. There is no other way for you to have a successful business. When you start with a business that promises to make you rich over night or quickly, you might want to run the other way. They are usually not being honest with you. Honesty is a big thing on the internet because no one has any other way of knowing you or what your business can do for them. You have heard the saying, if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is. This goes double for any business online. So before you start any business you have to realize that no matter what business you do, especially internet marketing businesses, you will have to work hard in order to be a success with it. KEEP YOURSELF FOCUSED AT ALL TIMES When you start an internet marketing business, one of the mistakes that you will make is to let a lot of different things distract you from building your business. This happens to everyone that has a business online. The one thing that you have to do is to learn how to keep yourself focused on what you are trying to achieve. The more focused you are on your business, the faster you will make money with it, and the success you want will be yours that much faster. There are a couple of different things that you can do to help you stay focused on your business. • You want to set some goals. This is something that a lot of people don’t do. Believe it or not but goals are extremely helpful for helping you stay focused. You want to write down short term goals for three months and six months. You also want to write down your long term goals for one year and five years. Make sure that you are realistic with your goals. You don’t want to have a three month goal of make $100,000. That is not going to happen. So make sure that you put down goals that you know you can achieve. Once you have your goals wrote down you want to make sure that you put them in a place you can see them every day. That way when you start getting side tracked you can read them to help remind you of what you are working towards. • Set up a dream board or a goal board with pictures. All you need for this is a poster board or a bulletin board. You then will need some magazines or pictures of things that you want in your future as your business starts making more money. This is much like the goals that you set but different in a big way. When you can visualize what you are working towards, such as the house you have always wanted or your dream car, you won’t believe how much this can help you stay in focus. Being able to see visual pictures of what you want will make all the difference in the world. You want to put everything on this board that you want. From your dream house, car, animals, money, or anything else you want. Then you want to hang it in a place where you can see it every single day. • Make a list every day of what you want to accomplish, then don’t stop working until you get it all done for that day. There may be some things that will take you a couple of days to get done. That is okay as long as you put them on your list every day until they are done. By having a list you will keep yourself focused on what needs to be done to help you grow your business.

When in the end, conversion is all that matters. If your websites do not convert visitors into buyers, you're just not making any money. Period. Plain and simple. That is why conversion matters. But to go a step further, conversion as it matters to you, the Big Dog affiliate marketer, isn't just about what one or two visitors do—it's about what the masses at your website do. For our purposes here, conversion really means what your site is doing as a whole. We can't reasonably expect that every visitor to your site will convert into a buyer (but wouldn't it be nice if we could!). You do need to know that overall, however, what you are doing on your site is working. Conversion is about rates and statistics and sales, and unfortunately there are no real solid rules that apply. You cannot make sweeping judgments because the rules will be different for each and every product that you have. Each product and niche has its own set of needs. What you can do is maximize the profitability of your site. The way to do that is to test and change and tweak your content and your website until you have gotten the highest amount of sales and profitability that you can. There are ways to do that, and that's what we'll talk about next, but by and large there is a definite element of trial and error involved in converting website visitors into buyers. In the end, we're left with exactly what we started with in answer to this question. Plain and simple, conversion matters because conversion equals sales. Learn the "art" of the conversion, and you'll have one more of the crucial pieces of the affiliate marketing puzzle. How to make it Happen First off, to understand how to make conversion happen, you have to understand your role in the grand scheme of things. Your role—your sole purpose for Big Dog survival—is to get your visitors to your parent affiliate's sales page—your merchant's sales page. Many new affiliates, and indeed some seasoned affiliates who just don't 'get it', mistakenly think that their job is to sell the products themselves. Subtly, yes, in ways, that is true. But overall, that is not your job—the sales itself is the role of the product seller. What you need to do is warm your visitors up so that they can feel confident in taking that final step, and going on to seal the deal. Again, this is where you need to realize that the merchant has done a lot of the work for you. They've constructed the sales pages and order processing mechanisms. They've written (or had written) the killer copy that will totally convince the buyer to buy. All they need you to do is get the seller there. This is the part of the biz that is referred to as the 'pre sale' or 'pre selling'. This is the part where you work as the middle man—the liaison between the seller who has this great product and the buyer who really does want to buy, but needs that added little push, or the point in the right direction. An important thing to remember, too, is this—your readers are busy people. They, like you and everyone else in the modern world, do not have the time for extensive reading and research. That's why they're coming to you. They're hoping you've already done that for them. The lesson to take from that is that you should put up quality, product-supporting content, and you should make it valuable; but you should not kill your visitors with kindness. Make the whole process very easy. • Give readers a piece of information they can use (a product review, a tutorial, et cetera). • Show them that you understand their need (you identify with their problem, you see their need, you know how to fix it, you've been in their shoes). • Point them to the place with the solution (link to your merchant's page). • Let the merchant do the rest! (They've already done it anyway, why reiterate and waste your visitors' time?) The whole process is done and over in about three simple steps. And out of those, the only one that really requires work is the providing of useful information—the converting part. You'll read more about some very specific methods for subtle conversions in the latter part of this chapter in the 'Tips and Tricks' section, but understand that whichever method you choose to use, it needs to fit within the needs and demands of the visitor's life. In other words, it needs to be simple, directed, and effective. And all the better if it is action-oriented. When people have to take an action (and we're not just talking about the action of buying), they feel they are being productive and proactive in fulfilling their needs, or solving their problems, whichever the case may be for your product(s); sometimes it could be both.

This looks like two zeroes separated by a line. In short, it is called a default picture for a reason; it’s up to you to change it! Some people think that only a real photo is good enough on Twitter, if you want to be taken seriously. I disagree. There are some terrific people on Twitter who quite rightly use their business logo, or perhaps the logo of their main website or blog. Character or cartoon pictures can also work very well in some cases; presumably cartoonists wouldn’t dream of choosing anything else. In short, choose what you feel comfortable with. The two main rules are to make sure you replace that default image with something better, and to ensure that it is clear and of good quality. DESIGNING YOUR PAGE Look for the design tab in your settings section. At the time of writing you have a dozen themes to choose. These are basically your backgrounds. But you can also upload your own background if you wish – and this is by far the best choice to make. It will enable you to stand out as an individual, as no one else will have the same one. There are sites which provide templates for you to change and alter as you see fit, or you can design something yourself. Some Twitter users have even created backgrounds for other people on the site! You will notice that some have made sure their website address and additional marketing information is included within the background… which is the primary reason why you should think about doing this yourself. There are some points you should be aware of here though. The most important one is to be aware of the limitations that are in place. Take a look at your home page for a moment and you will see what I mean. The main section of your home page – the bit with all the tweets and your information on it – is enclosed in a specific portion of the page, in the center. This means your background design essentially wraps around it. So if you opt for a central design, you aren’t going to see it. Instead, think of creating two columns – one either side of the central part of the page. You may need to experiment with the dimensions as well, to make sure your design can easily be seen by other people when they visit your page. Surf around Twitter for a while and have a look at some other home pages whose owners have tried to do this. You can see what happens if the dimensions are wrong; you might only be able to see the first half of someone’s email address or website address. Needless to say that doesn’t help when it comes to enabling people to get in touch with you! This all depends on the resolution of your monitor – and of the monitors of everyone who views your home page. But you can tweak what you make to ensure that everyone can see it properly. START TWEETING! Okay, so if you have completed all the above steps you should now have a home page which looks pretty good. All that remains now is to start tweeting, so you have some worthwhile content on it to attract the attention of anyone who finds your page. Most of the time, the first tweet anyone makes is something along the lines of ‘figuring out how to use Twitter’! Don’t feel you have to stick to this however – it’s become a little boring in many cases. Take the opportunity to tell people what you are going to be tweeting about in the future. Bear in mind that it is going to take a while to build up a backlog of tweets for people to read, so you need to try and make sure you give them something to look forward to. Our fictitious internet marketer could start something like this: “Building my brand new affiliate website – details soon!” “Made $357 in affiliate sales today – will share more info in future tweets.” Do you see how these make people want to read more? They also contain good keywords – and we will explore how to make sure you can benefit from those in a later section. The key is really to remember why you joined Twitter in the first place. Don’t just tweet about anything and everything – make sure you stay on topic as much as you can. If your reason for joining was to share your knowledge about internet marketing in the hope of selling some eBooks about that subject, bear that in mind at all times. You want to create traffic to your website or blog as well, no doubt. So think about the type of people who will enjoy your site and work at getting their attention.

We've already taken a look at the sales stats in the previous section; and if that's not enough to really drive the point home, here are 3 more powerful benefits to consistently using well-thought-out follow up process... 1. Following up builds trust - one of the key questions we ask ourselves, when preparing a new product launch (and especially in affiliate marketing) is: "Why should Josephine Customer buy from me?" When asked why they choose one particular marketer over another, customers frequently answer: "Because I trust so-and-so". I'm sure you know about building up trust through solving problems - and not always through paid products. But your follow up process also helps to build trust too. It's like being introduced to someone at a convention. You may like them, but if the contact is brief, you may also forget them. And it's not until you've met each other at least 3 times, and had a couple of conversations about your shared interests that it naturally occurs to you that your new conference buddy is the very person you should speak to about the subject you're both passionate about. So it is with internet marketing: Your perfect potential customer "meets" you... but if all she hears is one sales pitch, with a couple of sporadic letters that don't do anything towards building up a relationship, she is likely to go elsewhere to buy a similar product - even though yours is actually far more in tune with what she originally wants! 2. Follow up builds consistency - If your follow up plan follows the same pattern with every product, your perfect potential customer subconsciously falls into a rhythm with you. Consistency creates a reassuring air of professionalism, letting the reader know that you are not going to disappear off into the ether again next week - which she can depend on you. Contrast that with the pattern many inexperienced marketers develop: Of wildly blitzing their list with 2 or 3 emails; then disappearing for 6 or 7 months - during which time they actually forget who the marketer is. 3. Follow Up Sets you ahead of the competition - The simple truth is, for every one marketer who follows up, there are often hundreds of would-be competitors who don't. And it's the rare few people in life who take the time to thank you, follow through on their word, take responsibility for their actions and who apologize unhesitatingly if they make a mistake who stick in our minds as top-drawer people. It also tells your potential fan or customer that you are not the sort of person who's in it for the quick buck: That you respect them and care about their needs. Making Your Reputation We’ve mentioned how consistent follow up can build trust… but the truth is, follow up can do more than that: It can make or break your reputation: Be inconsistent, or forget to keep your word, and you will lose customers for life. Be reliable every time – and you will keep them. It all boils down to habits – yours, in always being reliable, presenting follow up opportunities at every stage: Your customer’s, in getting into the habit of buying from you… and looking for your offers. You want to get them to the place where they welcome your emails, and write to tell you, “Yours are the emails I never skip!” Ignoring the Obvious So where can you add a follow up? Everywhere! There are so many opportunities. Do it after your new list member has downloaded their free report, video, template or audio file. (“Did you have a chance to download “5 Easy Pieces” yet? If so, you may have noticed…”) Do it during your free email mini-course. Do it at the end. Do it before the sale, and at every step of the process. And especially do it after the sale or the initial offer “expiration”. But no matter where you position your power-packing follow ups, there's one other action you need to take. And that is… “Just ask”. The One Follow Up Step that’s Easy to Miss Follow up emails, recordings or articles are the ridiculously obvious place to include a call to action, yet it’s surprising how many people fail to remember this! Your readers and fans are not mind readers. As one colleague recently said to me, “You know, when someone wants me to mind read, I tell them I took ESP 101 nine times… and I still failed the course every time.” Help your potential list members and customers out by inviting them to take the next logical step – your particular call to action for particular follow up contact. Help them eagerly ask you the ultimate question: “So where do I click to buy?” If they’ve already bought, don’t be afraid to follow up with suggestions at how they might want to augment their new product, take advantage of a special OTO (one time offer) or upgrade to the next level.

Can you tell if there are a lot of existing accounts on those places that talk about your niche? If there isn't, delete the niche from your list. Optional Filter #2: Filter by Content “Virality” For this filter, look at the group’s pages and accounts that target the niches that target the niches that you have left on your list. Look at the engagement levels of the content in those accounts. Does it seem like there’s an organicactive community built around these niches? If the answer is “yes”, keep the niche. If the answer is “no”, you might want to get rid of that niche. Keep all these in mind because if at least the main five selection factors are present, there’s a strong likelihood your business will be successful. However, keep in mind that niche election accounts for 90% of success. You still have to take care of the remaining 10%. Create a Niche Brand Home Now that you have a clear idea of what your niche is going to be, the next step is to build a home for the brand you will be creating for that niche. Pay attention to what I just I said. I said that you will be building a brand. I did not say “business” and I definitely didn’t say “website”. Unfortunately, a lot of online entrepreneurs think that once they’ve discovered a niche, they just need to build a website or a business. Wrong. If you don't build a brand, it's only a matter of time until your business stagnates or flat-out fails. You have to build abrand. This is what people will gravitate to. This is what people will build an organic community on. You have to build a brand; otherwise, you're just simply pushing information as a commodity. That's a losing game. The best that you could offer is content and information. You really don't have much of an advantage because your visitors can get that elsewhere. In fact, your competitors probably have been around far longer than you. There’s really no good reason for them to go to you for content when theycan find that stuff somewhere else. You need to build a brand. Your brand is a set of values that your community and a targeted audience would associate with your business. That is your brand. Build a Niche Brand Website The first thing that you're going to work on is your website. This is going to be the home of the brand that you managed to build through all the content that you distribute all over the Internet. All that branding has to go somewhere. All that effort has to lead to a specificplace on the Internet, and this is your website. Do not ever confuse your website with your brand. Your website is just an expression of your brand. It is not your brand. When putting together the specifications for a website, understand that you're trying to create an experience. Think of building a website as something like setting up a nightclub. When you're setting up a dance club, nightclub or some sort of social destination, you're looking to set up an experience because if you set up a club that serves alcohol and plays loud music, you've set up something generic. You’ve set up something that people could experience pretty much everywhere. There has to be something that’s different about your brand. This is called your unique selling proposition. That's why you have to look at your website as a giant opportunity to communicate your unique selling proposition. What is it about your treatment of your niche that makes your brand stand out from the rest? Unfortunately, only you can answer that question. Once you have set down the design parameters of your website (again, these must be intended to create some sort of unique experience), you should then select design parameters for graphics that communicate your niche identity. You should also look at getting graphics designed that highlights your brand identity. All these flow together. Quick Shortcut: reverse engineer your competitors’ designs The biggest problem with creating a niche brand home is that it's too tempting to come up with something that you think is awesome or hot. You’re more than welcome to brainstorm but, let me tell you, 90% of the time, whatever you come up with will fall flat. It turns out that you don’t see eye to eye with your customers. The better approach would be to study what your competitors are already doing and focus on what they have in common. The reason they have certain design elements in common is that they resonate, at some level or other, with your target audience. They would not share those common design elements if they didn't speak to your audience’s needs. You use that as a preliminary starting point. This is a “safe spot” for you to start your niche brand home design on. Later on, you're going to customize based on the actual interaction of your audience with your website.

Table of Contents Social Media A to Z The Networks Drilling Down Specifically Social Video Live Socializing Visual Socializing Wrap Up Sample Content Preview Wikipedia Explained Wikipedia is quickly becoming a valuable way for businesses to attract fresh visitors, simply through educating and informing them on a specific subject. Developing an article with your business link, and then submitting it to a Wikipedia directory, can easily help you reach a variety of targeted visitors who have a specific interest in your subject. The only effort you need to make in this case is to provide a quality article or material, and submit it to the appropriate category on Wikipedia. Wikipedia receives thousands, even millions of web visitors each day. Simply creating one link to your information can be all it takes to reach a wider audience. In the event that a visitor finds the information especially useful, you have the chance to join a social bookmarking network as well; social bookmarkers are always looking for valuable content to link to and submit, and you have a chance to join a new community with each submission as a result. Social Networking Sites Social networking communities offer another opportunity to join the social media channels. Every effort you make to identify your brand and web presence can be increased tenfold when you join a consumer-driven and user-generated community such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or other social networking platform. These sites encourage regular interaction in a casual and conversational style; although you won’t be submitting specific articles or content, you will be growing your brand presence with your users. IN addition, you can use the Search features on any of these sites to narrow down your target market. This Big Time – Video Sites Video sharing can work well in conjunction with your article and content submissions, and is becoming especially popular with social bookmarkers. Creating and publishing videos to deliver a message can easily be picked up by many social bookmarkers and shared instantly; the idea is to create something unique and creative so that more people are driven to view it—and ultimately, head back to your website! Interactive Sites With A Focus On Events Virtual reality and events are another way to attract new viewers to your website, and can create an instant impact with other marketing efforts. If you submit a press release about your event or the latest innovations on your website to different social bookmarking networks, the chances of increased exposure are much higher. Making sure all of your submissions are tagged and indexed in the right categories will help you create a strong presence in the community; essentially, you are notifying your community of the upcoming event or news in press release form. If you catch onto a trend or other newsworthy subject, you can gain instant favor on a variety of social bookmarking communities such as Digg, Technorati, or Reddit. This is a great example of buzz marketing at its best, and can benefit your website promotion efforts in multiple ways. Podcasting Developing online audio episodes of content is quickly becoming a popular activity for bloggers and website owners, and including this type of media on your website can help you promote your work in a new way. The immediate attraction of audio on your website can also be submitted to social bookmarking sites and other media channels, and once you have a system in place for publishing these files on your site, you can start sharing the link on a regular basis. Sites including Digg and Technorati now have a section for podcasts and audio files; more people are becoming interested in simply listening than reading, and you can begin to reach a much wider market by taking advantage of this trend. Streaming Media If you have a business or website that can create news, tips, or advice, then Livecasting may be another opportunity for you. These segments of online video are designed to share an idea, showcase an event, or even stage a seminar. The idea is to generate enough interested users who ‘join’ the session from anywhere; livecasts are online events that can be used to generate buzz. A press release that highlights the event can easily be submitted to social bookmarking sites and directories for instant exposure. Distributing Files Media sharing is one of the precursors to social bookmarking and networking, developing from the concept of photo sharing and music exchanges. As these sites have grown, more people are learning to share and create profiles so that they can fit into different communities naturally. Flickr this is just ONE example, and you can create a small profile of your own to join. Always remember to include all ink back to your main website, as this will be the ultimate driver of new traffic. All of these social media platforms offer you an opportunity to establish a presence within a community, and then start to network with other individuals. Always keep in mind that any piece of content that is published on the web has potential for sharing; the link is what will be submitted to social bookmarking directories and networks, and you can work on building a profile of your won, or counting on your customers to do this for you. The goal is to create a valuable and consistent presence in a variety of social media outlets so that the chances of being bookmarked and shared are much higher. Web 2.0 Explained Building a network of like-minded users and visitors is the basis of Web 2.0 applications on the web today, and social bookmarking is just one element of this growth. Web 2.0 sites are based on a few key principles that encourage interaction and sharing information with ease. By using tagging and breaking down information into keyword structures, everything is organized in a way that makes it easy to search and find specific information. From blogs to shopping sites, Web 2.0 has allowed new, media-rich applications to serve as platforms for all users. Sites such as Digg.com, StumbleUpon, LinkedIN, ThisNext, and dozens of others are building communities and creating networks.

How To Stretch Your Dollar Through The Holidays PLR Ebook

Sample Content Preview Who Is Going? Make a list of every person traveling. Then make a list of the dates you will be leaving and returning. See if you can give yourself a bit of leeway, because being flexible can lead to big savings. Also check off all airports that are good options for your location. One might be further away from your house, but have cheaper flights and perhaps even easy public transportation so you don’t have to spend a fortune getting to the airport or parking at the airport while you are away. Bargain Websites There are a range of sites that offer good airfares, and some also have affordable, all-inclusive package deals with flight, hotel (for some or all of your stay), car rental, and entrance fees to popular attractions. Some people swear by Priceline to get big discounts, while others use Expedia or Travelocity to book their packages. Some travel experts recommend that you purchase flights at 1 AM on a Wednesday to catch any remaining discounted fares from Monday and Tuesday. Keeping Down Food Costs Bring snacks with you to avoid the expense of costly airport food. Remember not to carry large bottles of water or full stainless steel water bottles in your carry-on luggage, as they can be confiscated by security. Wait until you get past security to fill up. Accommodation Issues In terms of accommodation, your relatives might have room to put you up, or you would need a hotel or motel (preferably with a kitchenette) so you could be more independent - especially if you have younger children. Another good option might be an Airbnb property near your family, if possible. This could give you some space and privacy even as you are spending time away from home. Be sure to read the sleeping specifications and the fine print. Don’t take your lively toddlers to a property full of expensive antiques, for example. Will You Need a Rental Car? Depending on where you are staying and where your family live, you may or may not need a car rental to get back and forth. In terms of airport transfers, some hotels and motels have a free courtesy bus. Taxis, Uber or Lyft might be an option, but expect them to be very busy at the holidays, and the costs can all start to add up. Why Travel Insurance Can Be a Good Idea Finally, travel insurance is a good idea in case your plans change at the last minute for any reason, such as illness or injury. In most cases, you will not lose the price of the trip; you would just have a rebooking fee to pay and would have to rebook within a year. Make sure you read the fine print on your airline seats, though, and on the policy. Driving to Your Destination If you are driving to you relatives’ houses for the holiday, you will need to budget for gas and possibly accommodation. If you live in the North, be sure to also winterize the car, put snow chains on and antifreeze in, and so on. Pack everything you would need in the event that you got stranded in bad weather — it does happen. Essentials include water, food and blankets. Paying for It All In the case of travel, it is best to pay for everything on a credit card because you will often get additional insurance and other forms of consumer protection. If you use a credit card that gives you cash back, air miles, or money back through the Upromise program for college savings, these can help make your trip more affordable. Let’s look next at the cost of food and drink. 2. Cutting Food and Drink Expenses for the Holidays Food and drink can be one of the largest line items on your budget, especially if you are traveling or tend to have a very lively social schedule. Food on the Road If you are traveling, each family member will need three meals a day plus snacks and water/beverages. Then there are the holiday meal items you are likely to contribute to as a guest in someone’s home. Use stainless water bottles for the family. If you are a member of a warehouse club such as Costco, go shopping as soon as you arrive at your destination to get the basics your family needs most and stock the kitchen for your stay. Luxury Items for the Holidays The warehouses often have gift baskets and luxury food items especially for the holidays. These can make a great gift and/or contribution to the holiday meal. Some stores will also stock alcohol, so you can buy beer and wine for a fraction of what you would pay in the supermarket or a liquor store. If you are driving to your destination, load up the car with your family favorites. If you are staying at home, chances are you will be hosting a festive meal yourself. Finalize the guest list as far as possible beforehand, but add a few place settings just in case. Include a vegan option as well so you can cater to all tastes. Bring Food Contributions When Dining Out If you are invited out, it’s customary to bring a contribution to the meal, such as a covered dish or a bottle of wine. Some meals will be potluck; the host may also request that you sign up online for what dish you will bring so they don’t end up with a dozen desserts and no side dishes. Bring a disposable pan they can heat and eat in. It’s quick and easy, and you don’t have to worry about getting back your favorite casserole dish. Baking is an essential part of most holidays, with cakes, cookies and muffins galore. If you have to bake a lot for family, friends, parties with the kids at school, potlucks and so on, buy in bulk from warehouse clubs or online. Candymaking can also be a lot of fun at the holidays. There’s nothing more delicious than homemade fudge. The treats from your kitchen can often make tasty and affordable gifts, if you take the trouble to wrap them nicely. Just make sure your fruitcake is light and moist, not a brick.
