It is important to understand affiliate marketing so that you may become successful when using it as a practical part of your online business or service. You don't have to be a technical expert in the field of affiliate marketing to reap the benefits of it. First, it begins with a product seller. A product seller is person who has a product but doesn’t know how to drive traffic to their product or how to convert traffic into actual profit. This person's website has a link to an affiliate program that is set up using specialized tracking software. Alternatively, this person could sign up with an affiliate network. An affiliate network is a special platform where the network owners recruit both product sellers and affiliate publishers. Affiliate publishers are individuals who sign up with affiliate programs to obtain affiliate links. Then, the affiliate publishers publish varying types of webpages with varying content to drive traffic to those pages. When driven traffic clicks on affiliate links, the affiliate network pays the affiliate publisher a commission. Similarly, this process can work with an affiliate program set up directly by the product seller. The affiliate either advertises a link that drives traffic to it’s content or uses its own website as a “through-way” to make money via earned commissions. When a product seller begins using an affiliate network it is important that the network drive traffic to the product seller’s product. Both the affiliate as well as the product seller should benefit from the partnership. Without an affiliate program, a product seller becomes limited in their ability to drive traffic. Conversely, without product sellers, affiliates have nothing to promote and therefore nothing from which to gain a commission. The Problem with Affiliate Marketing Although affiliate marketing does offer many benefits it is not an effective strategy when used alone. Also, there are four problems with affiliate marketing that you should both be aware of and address when developing your own business or personal marketing strategy. To begin, many products or courses claim to have a proven formula for making YOU money. Many of these do address affiliate marketing by claiming that the course will coach you as you learn the details of affiliate marketing. Most of these courses are written by individuals who are paid only to write, but not to research or understand the content about which they are writing. Many of these authors use the copy and paste method to repackage old, outdated, or even incorrect data then resell this same material time and time again. It is important that the reader of these types of repackaged information and gimmicks be savvy to the ways in which to avoid them! First, the reader should find whether or not the author has a proven sales record, good and unbiased reviews of products or courses, and a thorough personal understanding of any topic about which the author is writing. A second problem that the affiliate marketing sector faces are “unactionable ideas”. It is common for an affiliate marketer to propose a marketing idea that seems clever, user-friendly, and lucrative but is nothing more than raves and banter about “creating hype” or “pursuing unlimited possibilities”. To combat this affiliate marketing problem, the product seller should ensure on his or her own that the idea presented by the affiliate network is both actionable and profitable. For example, if an affiliate network advertises that it will increase your visibility and traffic if you sign up for a premium package or spend money by paying higher commissions to the network, it is imperative that you analyze the return on investment as well as the risk to benefit ratio. It might make sense for a multimillion dollar company to spend an extra $100,000 to reap benefits in excess of that amount while it would be simply foolish for an unknown niche market private company to spend this same amount with the only realistic expectation for improved sales to be around a $25,000 increase in profit. It is ultimately the responsibility of the product seller, not the affiliate, to analyze and decide whether a particular idea is worth the initial money and time investment. A third challenge to the credibility of many affiliate marketing books, seminars, or courses is the presentation of outdated, obsolete, or antiquated methods for increasing profitability. In fact, some affiliate marketing seminars and membership sites continue to tout the value of article marketing. Believe it or not, there are still affiliate marketing video guru seminars and membership sites out that tout the financial benefits of article marketing. Those who haven't been living under a rock or did not suffer from suspended animation for several years would know that article marketing, at least as practiced in the year 2000, no longer works. However, if you do decide to continue article marketing it is imperative that you use a Google adapted/adopted technology in order to ensure that you are profitable. This is one example of outdated or obsolete advice and it is sadly only one example of the many outdated forms of advice. Finally, and most importantly, one of the main reasons why people who buy the typical affiliate marketing blueprint or coaching system fail to make any money is that these products or services underplay the importance of traffic. Traffic is crucial. In fact, if you do not know how to drive traffic to your online business you won’t have an online business for long at all. In the current online world, traffic is no luxury, it is an important and crucial need that must be met in order to effectively grow an online business in the current technological period. Although the importance of traffic one of utmost necessity, many of the heavily acclaimed and hyped affiliate marketing guides immensely underserve the reader by not addressing the solution to the problem. In fact, many times the problem is simply repeated many times without any attempt providing a solution. Well, this is not a guru book. Instead, this book will provide a detailed method about how to effectively use affiliate marketing. The Better Way This book is the better way! I did this one day in September 2005 and found a Harry Potter book, several other fiction books, and titles such as Natural cures "they" won't tell you about, How what you wear can change your life, How to profit from the demise of the dollar, and The official SAT study guide. I've paraphrased to some degree, but you get the idea. Here's what I learned just from spending a few minutes on Amazon that day. People are reading good fiction from already-best selling authors (Da Vinci Code, the Harry Potter series, and others). Secondly, Amazon buyers, buying over the Internet, are interested in nonfiction topics such as improving their lives and making more money. For these books, just about any author will do, even virtual unknowns or people who went to prison for lying to the American public. And that quick visit only confirmed that the straightest route to ebook profits is in the nonfiction ebook market. This is for a number of reasons. Fiction readers tend to like to curl up in a chair with an actual book. Some of them attend book clubs where the physical books are brought around someone's kitchen table with wine and cheese. Fiction readers tend to purchase from authors they're already familiar with. Fiction can be more difficult to write and deliver well. Also, many of the classics in fiction are available as free ebooks. A reader interested in fiction could just download those. So stick with nonfiction unless you're feeling particularly bold and experimental. Here is some more good news, and if you didn't already know this then you are going to be smiling big. Drum roll please... ideas are not copyrighted, therefore any idea you see, hear, or read anywhere anytime, is yours to use for an ebook! You can create books around the same ideas that are covered in the Amazon best seller list, and turnaround and create an ebook on the exact same subject! Now, copyright law does protect the way ideas are expressed, so you want to make sure your hired author does not plagiarize or copy book text outright. And you cannot use the title word for word either. But there's nothing stopping you from creating another book or ebook that covers the same subject with a different voice. It's all as completely legal and guilt-free as nonfat Haagen Dazs. This is why looking at bestseller lists is a great way to get topic ideas. Digging a little deeper There are groups of people who are willing to buy nonfiction ebooks: hobbyists. At any given time, these people are looking for ways to spend their money on their hobbies. Their passion is your financial gain. What avid hobbyists want will always make great ebook material. Note that I did not say what hobbyists need. You may have certain opinions on what exactly certain people should need or should read. But those are not necessarily good topics for immediate ebook profit. Those topics may be areas for you to dabble in at your leisure. However, if you want to make money at this, find out what niche groups want, and hit those groups with your ebook. Find hobbyists and niche groups by searching the web for "popular hobbies," "enthusiasts," or "what America is buying." Or, you can search specifically for forums and discussion groups for hobbyists. In the forums, people talk with each other to share ideas with one another. Often, they will exchange testimonials for equipment, upcoming events, and books. One popular site where hobbyists go to talk to one another online is Yahoo!. Check it out. Go to www.yahoo.com. Click "groups." On the groups page you'll see a list of categories such as Business & finance, and Religion. For demonstration purposes, click on "Games." On the games screen, game subcategories are listed followed by numbers. The numbers indicate how many discussion forums are available for that subcategory. These numbers reveal a lot. Notice how "role playing games," and "video & computer games" have factors of ten or in some cases factors of 100 more forums than other subcategories. "Wargaming" and "paintball" don’t even come close, although those categories are much more discussion-laden than "horseshoe pitching." For fun, one day I continued selecting subcategories until I arrived at a list of over a thousand (yes a thousand) discussion groups on Yahoo having to do with vampire role playing. Here's how I got there: Games>>Role Playing Games>>Live Action>> World of Darkness>>Vampire: The Masquerade. Some of the forums are open to new members, and you can join to read what everyone's discussing. Once in the forum, you can review discussion threads from today, yesterday, or a year ago. Don't go back too far if you want to find out the hottest possible ebook topics. You can participate in discussions if you like. FYI, do not drop into a discussion group just to market an ebook; hobbyists consider this spam and will drop you from the group. When you read and/or participate, you'll find out what this group is buying. All you have to do is skim to find out what questions they are asking each other about products or traveling or information. What they are interested in buying is a key piece of information because passionate consumers love to research before they buy. This is an immediate ebook market. Create a book on how to select the best this or that on the market, related to the current wants of the enthusiasts. Enthusiasts come in all shapes and sizes. Think brides-to-be, golfers, whitewater rafters, people who collect vintage baseball cards, wine connoisseurs, gardeners, frequent vacationers, video gamers, and parents who put their children into private tutoring, ballet, and violin lessons before age 3. There are some hobbies that seem to continually attract enthusiasts, like playing golf, watching football, restoring old cars, and listening to music. These are classics. Then there are some hobbies that seem to come and go in waves, such as Red Hat Societies participation, snow boarding, or line dancing. Pick either a classic hobby or a fluctuating hobby in its peak season for your best odds. A big market on the Internet is the 20-30 set. Here's what they are doing right now, according to one survey. They're snowboarding, wakeboarding, traveling, camping, listening to music, taking photographs. They're drinking gourmet coffee, rock climbing, playing guitar, camping, dancing, looking for online love, shopping for computers and other electronics, attending sports events, studying the Bible, exercising, trying to find jobs, and watching movies. Any one of these subjects would make a great ebook with a buying market standing by.

Sample Content Preview Each day when you wake up, remind yourself of everything you are grateful for. For starters you could say, well I woke up, this means I'm still alive, I am grateful to be alive. You could say, “I am grateful that I was able to sleep last night”. I now have the energy to do what I need to do today. When you sit down at the table for breakfast, you could say, I am grateful to have this meal, many people will not have one today. When you kiss your children goodbye to send them to school, you could say I am grateful for my wonderful children. Just remember to always look at each thing you do each day with gratefulness. As long as you are letting your emotions control you negatively, you will not achieve inner peace. As you can see just by looking at things in a different way, instead of being stressed, you will now feel grateful. Feeling grateful will bring you one step closer to achieving inner peace. Finding Inner Peace Within Your Mind In order to find inner peace you must reach deep within your own mind. Your mind controls your entire being. If your mind is full of negative thoughts and feelings you will find it very difficult to reach inner peace. Your mind includes a conscious and subconscious. If you can get in touch with your subconscious mind and convince it to be positive you can achieve inner peace. Of course this is easier said than done. You will need to work at this every day. Every time you catch yourself thinking negative thoughts, you must stop yourself and replace them with positive ones. Work on this every day and in time you will find it easier to do. Your subconscious mind controls your emotions. It is programmed from all the years of your life on how to react to certain emotional stimuli. In order to become more positive and relaxed you have to retrain your subconscious mind to new reactions to your emotions. This will take a conscious effort. You have been programmed your entire life to see things a certain way by other people's point of view. Whenever you find yourself thinking negative, try and figure out what first made you feel this way. If you can find the source of the problem many times you can replace the negative thoughts with positive thinking. You may have had someone tell you the way you dress looks stupid. This of course does not make it true, but if it was repeated enough, your subconscious mind starts to believe it. You need to replace that thought with your own thoughts. You may have to tell your subconscious mind dozens of times the way I dress is so great, I just love my sense of style. If you keep repeating this enough to your subconscious mind it will start to believe it and replace the negative comments from the past. Having doubts about your abilities can also cause negative thoughts and emotions. You may have been told throughout your life by your parents, friends, or significant other certain things about yourself that are negative. Whatever these doubts are that you have, you need to replace them with positive emotions. Just because somebody else told you something you did was wrong, does not make it true. Never let anyone make you feel bad about yourself. As long as you do things to the best of your ability you have every right to be proud and happy about your achievements. By learning how to replace negative feelings and emotions with positive feelings and emotions, you will be on the road to inner peace. Use positive self talk every day. By using positive self talk you can replace many negative thoughts that are embedded in your subconscious mind. The more you repeat the same thoughts to yourself about each negative thought in your subconscious mind, the more your subconscious mind will believe them and replace the old thoughts. Finding Inner Peace by Letting Go of Fear If you find yourself living in fear, it is very difficult to achieve inner peace. There are many things that can cause fear. Some people are so afraid that they will fail, that they never try at all. This is an extreme fear that can completely paralyze you from attempting to ever achieve anything at all in life. If you have this kind of fear, is a good idea to start with baby steps. Say you want to learn how to sew. You have looked at sewing machines and even read books about sewing; however that's where it stops. Maybe you're so afraid that what ever you make will not look good, so you just don't even try. Why not try taking a class. Start with something small like a hot pad. No matter what you do decide to do, just start. If you never start you will never succeed and you will always wonder why you never tried. The very worst thing that can happen is that you won't be good at it. I mean you won't die or anything, so why not just try. Each time you decide to try something new, ask yourself what's the worst thing that can happen if I fail. If it won't kill you, then go ahead and try. Start off small and before you know it, you will learn to get over your fear of failure. You may have fear of many different things including fear that someone will break into your house and hurt your family, fear of spiders, fear of failure, fear of success, fear that your children, spouses, or parents don't love you, or many other things. If you are constantly worrying and fearful of things, you will need to work on each fear one at a time. Say you worry constantly about someone breaking into your home. What can you do to ensure this will not happen? Take the steps necessary to secure your home and then tell yourself that this fear is no longer necessary. Once you have told yourself this enough times your subconscious mind will stop letting it bother you constantly. Do this with every one of your fears until you have chased them out of your mind. If you are wasting time being fearful of things that most likely will never happen you are only hurting yourself. Thinking about what might happen or could happen constantly will only drag down. Try to replace irrational fears with positive happy thoughts. You need to come to grips with your fear in order to stop them from destroying your life. By gaining control of your fears and taking chances in life, you will begin to find inner strengths you didn't even know you had. For each fear that you have allowed to control your life until now that is possible to get rid of, and you do, you will start to feel stronger and more able to deal with life. This will help you on your road to inner peace. Most of your fears will never come true. So if you keep harboring them, you are actually making them more likely to happen. Many bad things that happen to people were actually brought upon them because they thought they would happen. When this happens your subconscious mind will actually make it happen. Your subconscious mind had heard it so many times it believes it to be true and therefore makes it true. Work at pushing these thoughts away and you will become a stronger, self confident person. And will be that much closer to achieving inner peace. Take Take the Time to Find Your Inner Peace One definition of peace is a quietness of mind. If your mind is quiet there is no room for pain or suffering. Your mind is open to tranquility and serenity. By discovering your own emotions and how you deal with things, you become more able to control your mind and learn to quiet it. Once you have discovered what is within you that makes you happy or sad, laugh or cry, angry or calm, you can begin to control your emotions better. By asking yourself what makes you feel each of these emotions, not only will you get to know yourself better, but you will have more control of yourself. In order to achieve inner peace you must reach deep within yourself and search through your mind for what makes you react how you react. As you become more in touch with your emotions you will find it easier to control them. You may be amazed at how many times you have reacted to certain things just because your subconscious had that reaction programmed within it. Once you figure out what's in your subconscious that does not need to be there anymore and clean it out, you will have much more control over how you do everything. Inner peace is within you. Each time you allow yourself to react differently to something that used to upset you and handle it calmly; you will be one step closer to total inner peace. You can achieve true inner peace and happiness, by simply listening to your mind, taking time to understand why it thinks the way it does, and replacing old thoughts with new ones. Listen to your heart. When ever you are unsure about anything, take a few minutes to be still and quiet your mind and listen with your heart. Your heart will not steer you wrong if you take time to listen. Of course by your heart I mean listen to your intuition. Yes everybody has it. And your intuition will not let you down. Practice being still and quiet every day for at least 15 minutes, so you can hear what your intuition is telling you. Good luck on your quest for inner peace.
