Sample Content Preview Let’s get started on creating the actual products. The first thing that you’re going to do is, you’re going to determine what I’m going to call your 6 entry products. Now, I’m using the number 6 because I believe that’s a good foundational place. You can start with one product. You can start with 25. However, you don’t need more than 6. You probably don’t need more than 4. But, you need more than 1. You need more than 2. So, I like 6. I think if you have 6 entry level products, that you have a good foundation. Now that might be scary, for some of you. Because, for many of you it takes 90 days to a year to create one product. So creating 6 products might take 6 years. But, not when I get done today. We’re presupposing that you know the information, and you’re going to determine what are 6 topics that people need help with in your niche. If you don’t know what those topics are, you go online to the various forums, you go to Yahoo Answers, you can go to Ask Jeeves, anyplace that people in your niche hang out, go in there and ask people what they’re looking for. In fact, if you look for what they’re already asking in those forums, you will already find out what people need that’s not bing marketed correctly. Here’s the thing, if somebody’s asking about it in the forum, that means they don’t know where to get the information. If they don’t know where to get the information, then, there’s a hole. There’s a vacuum that you can fill by creating a product that answers that need. So, you’re going to start out with 6 needs. What you’re going to do, is for each one of these needs, you’re going to record 1 to 2 hours of information. This is going to be targeted information. It specifically targets that niche information. It specifically teaches, in the same detail that I’m teaching right here for this topic, it is going to teach your buyers exactly what they need to know. I encourage you that these 1 to 2 hour segments need to be detailed. They need to give people more information than their able to gather by surfing for free online. They need to go into detail, and they do not need to have lots of fluff. I want to stress this because, I know in that creating a 1 to 2 hour entry level product, you’re going to be maybe your competitor has a 10 hour product. But, if you buy that 10 hour product and listen to it, if it’s the entry level product, you’re probably going to find that there’s a lot of fluff. That, out of 10 hours, there’s only 1 to 2 hours of genuine information. Now, you have a choice. You can record 10 hours of information, that’s 9 hours of fluff, and 1 hour of totally solid information. Or, you can just record the 1 hour of solid information. And, my experience has been, that when people buy 1 hour of solid information, they’re happier with that 1 hour of solid information, than if they by 10 hours of fluff. Because they have to take 10 hours to wade through that information. I believe that you can create, I’ve done it repeatedly in the past, I’ve done highly concise packages that sell really well at entry price points. Okay, so we’re going to record 1 to 2 hours of each one of those products. And, the first thing that you’re going to do, is you’re going to outline what that product is going to be. Whatever your topic is for this particular item, for this particular recording. You’re going to break it into a number of ideas or steps. You know that in a lot of my teaching, I use the number 10. The reason that I give people the number 10 is because I find that most people need a number. If you don’t give them a number they get stuck on 2. A lot of times, obviously it doesn’t happen with everybody. I’ve found if I just give people the number 10, they get to 8 and they get stuck, and that’s fine. Because 8’s a great number. Or they get to 10, and they might have some more, and they might write me and say can I go with 12? Well, of course you can go with 12. I want you to understand that’s why I usually use the number 10, it doesn’t have to be 10, it can be 6 points, it can be 8 points. I think in creating my outline for this product that I’m recording, I believe that I have about 6 points. Each one of those 6 points became a specific topic, and a specific recording. You’re going to think about what your topic is, and you’re going to break it into steps. Step 1 is this, step 2 is this, step 3 is this, step 4 is this, step 5 is this, step 6 is this. You’re going to write that down on a sheet of paper. Or you can type it into a Word document. Word processing document. Then, under each one of those topics, you’re going to write a synopsis of what you’re going to teach. Now, that synopsis could be a list of steps to do the step. Step one might have some steps and things that you’re going to teach about. It may be steps to do step 1. It may be explanation about step 1. Whatever. You’re going to write out either a synopsis, or a list of bullet points that you’re going to teach from. You’re going to teach when you do the recording. You’re going to do this for every single one of those points. So, when you get done, you might have, and I’ll be honest with you folks, I like to write this stuff out. When I teach in other places where I’m teaching, integrated article marketing and all of that, I usually have people use a word processing document. The reason for that is they can use copy and paste and use that same outline for creating multiple products. I’ll be honest though, when I normally do this, I write it on a sheet of paper. The reason I write it on a sheet of paper is, it’s real easy for me to edit on the fly, I don’t have to have my computer open, if I’m getting ready to record, and I just want to look at those notes 5 more minutes, I can go into the pizza shop and eat some pizza, while I’m preparing for recording, and I can pull out the piece of paper, and I can say, okay, add right here. Obviously you can do that one the computer, but I find that, on the fly, boy, just writing it out makes it make a lot of sense for me. The next step is going to be to record it. There’s a few different ways that you can record. I’m not going to go into great detail on this. The first way that you can do it, is you can literally buy an MP3 recording software for your computer if it doesn’t already come with some. I’m not going to recommend any, my guess is, you’ve probably already got some on your computer. All you need to do is buy a microphone for your computer to do it. There’s another company that I actually use, and that’s Audio Acrobat. I use Audio Acrobat, and they’re literally step by step, really easy directions on Audio Acrobat. You can record by calling a certain phone number on your telephone, and they give you a pin number, and as soon as you hit the pin number, and you hit their instructions, whatever you say becomes recorded, they convert it on their software to an MP3 and a few minutes after you finish your telephone call it is loaded up and ready to go. You can literally copy and paste a link that they give you to send out and put it on your download page, and in fact I do still have download pages that still contain the Audio Acrobat original scripting that they give me rather than uploading it to my own server. Most MP3’s I do upload to my own server. However, I do have content that I made, regularly make money selling, that literally has links that they give me, and they host that MP3 for me. You can record on your computer, you can record 3-way conversations, you can record conferences, there’s all kinds of things you can record using Audio Acrobat. The service that I personally use for recording a lot of what I do because a lot of the teaching that I do is live teaching, and I’ll invite someone to participate with me, so that I can get feedback. The reason I like feedback when I’m teaching, because it’s not necessary. The reason I like feedback when I’m teaching is, if for some reason if what I’m teaching doesn’t make sense, some part of it doesn’t make sense, the person that’s on the phone with me, can ask me, hey, what does that mean? Can you tell me more about that? I’m confused. They’re confused, then a lot of other people might be confused. I’m able to answer that question. You don’t need that element when you’re recording these entry level items. What will happen is, when you sell it the first time, you will get e-mails with people asking you the same questions. All you do is take all their questions and answer them for them as they send them to you in e-mail, take all their questions, and at the end of the week, after you’ve made 10 sales, or 20 sales, or 100 sales, whatever. You simply take all the peoples questions and record a Q&A recording, and just add it to the download page, so that all future buyers will get the add-on information. Does that make sense? [Other Voice] Yes Excellent, thank you. The software that I personally use to these types of 3-way conversations is Instant Teleseminar which is a product put out by Xiosoft.com. There are plenty of other services that will do the same thing, in fact, I’m not even recommending, or not recommending either one of these services, I’m simply indicating that that’s what I use. I don’t know if either one of these are the best on the market. I use them. I like them. They work really well for me. I understand them. I don’t have to learn new software. You know, every once in awhile you get somebody who wants to recommend something that’s better than what you have already. For me the opportunity cost of learning a new type of software, is much greater than simply going along with what I already love. Okay, so, if you’ve got something that you like better. By all means, use that. I use this process, or a very similar process, to create almost all, or probably now all of my entry level products. Now, I’ve told you it’s 1 to 2 hours worth of content. What I like to do is to break that content up into recordings on each of those particular topics. Okay, so, if you’ve got the 6 topics. I like to have 6 recordings. Now, these recordings don’t need to be any particular length. They need to be exactly as long as is necessary to teach that topic. So, one topic takes 10 minutes, that’s a 10 minute recording. If another topic takes 2 hours, then that’s a 2 hour recording. This allows a couple of things to happen. One of the things that happens is, the person wants to learn and listen, they want to skip ahead to a particular topic, they can easily do it, simply by selecting the audio for whatever the particular topic is that they want to learn. And, no really, that’s the biggest thing. Is that people are able to do that. And, if they’re going through just sequentially, starting at the beginning, they can maybe listen to one recording a day, over the course of 6 days, rather than having to listen to a full 2 hour recording all in one sitting. And, maybe missing some of what’s going on. I just find that that’s a really convenient way to do it. I really want to stress this idea that if you’ve done Step 1, which is you know your material. Creating the outline takes maybe half an hour. Literally, half an hour. Now, the first one might take a little bit longer. But, you’re literally making a very basic outline that you’re going to teach from. The actual recording of 2 hours worth of information, takes exactly 2 hours. If you’re recording 1 hour of information, it takes 1 hour. If you’re recording 3 hours of information, it takes 3 hours.

Sample Content Preview [Sean] Well, I would say you want to do as much audio recording on your own as possible to get it out there. If you’ve got 3 clients or something, that you need to get that material out to. The thing is too, I’ve done classes with one person before. One person shows up, I do the class as if there’s 100 people there, I just teach it myself. I’ve done it both ways, I’ve done recording in a vacuum, I also do very small classes. You just kind of have to make a decision. Here’s what you do if you only have 3 people in a program. They sign up for your program, you teach them XYZ. You have 3 people in the program. You send and email out to all 3 of them, you say “Hey, I want to set up a time that works for everybody.” You saw how I did this a month ago with a different program. You just send an email out that says “Hey, I just want to find out a time that’s going to work for everybody. Please tell me all the possible times and dates you’ll be available over the next 5 days.” Everybody writes you back, you find out what the overlap time is, you send an e-mail out that says “Congratulations, I found a time that works for everybody, it’s going to be 3pm on Wednesday.” Everybody shows up, maybe one person shows up because 2 people forget about it, it’s no big deal. You have a private teaching opportunity with the one person, and you record the Q&A, and you send it out to everybody, you put it on a download page. Now, that’s the first hour in your training. That’s the easiest way to do it. That’s what I do if I have a small group. [Beverly] OK, so whether or not you are charging for that, you would do it. So, in my case where I’m brand new, these people are signing up starting today. I have my credibility campaign in one of the two, it’s all set up for 7 emails, the other one two so far, but I’m going to be having about 5 or 6 at the end today. I’m doing it every 2 or 3 days. Because this kind of a niche won’t really like an everyday, I don’t expect. [Sean] So, I don’t really understand your question. You’re wanting to create a free teleseminar sequence for subscribers who haven’t bought yet? [Beverly] I’m not sure yet. Maybe I should just say, here’s a teleseminar series on XYZ situation, and here’s the cost. Yeah, I guess I should just do it that way. I haven’t worked with a consumer yet. I feel like I’m a neophyte in that. But, you think I should just charge for the teleconference series? No matter what? [Sean] No, I’m not saying that I think you should charge, I’m saying you have to decide. Do you want to do a free teleseminar series for 6 weeks and record it? Or, do you want to charge. It doesn’t make any difference. You can easily do a 6 week free teleseminar series, just don’t ever tell anybody on the live call when you’re recording it that it’s free. After 6 weeks, then you take the 6 recordings, you put them all on the download page, and that now becomes your product. And, nobody, except for the first 5 people who took your free program, free teleseminar series, even knows that it was free. Everybody else they’re going to pay $97, or $197 to access the material. Nobody ever has to know it was free after the 1st people. And, what you do, also, after the 1st call you [End Record]. That’s why I use Instant Teleseminar because in the middle of the call you see how I go in and out of tracks. Every time I talk about a different topic I hit [End Record] and [Start Record]. I don’t have to go do any audio editing when I get done. It’s already pre-audio edited for me. So, you’re going to do the same thing. You do your 45 minute free teleseminar, at the end of 45 minutes, you’re going to conclude your training, you’re going to hit [End Record]. Then you’re going to tell everybody that’s on the call, you’re going to say “Hey, by the way, congratulations for being here, if you missed the 1st week, these are all the things I covered the 1st week, and these are the things I’m going to cover next week, the week after, and the week after that. And, if you would just like to get all the recordings, and this is actually the only way you can get the 1st weeks recording, because you missed it, is for $97 you can prepay for access to the entire training program. And, of course, I’ll send you week 1 as well.” What this allows you to do is, I’ve done this before, where every single week people are buying the program, because they missed the 1st 2 weeks, they got on the 3rd week, you blew them away with your intelligence and everything that you taught them. Boy, I really want what’s on week 1 and week 2, and I can’t get it free anymore. Because it was a free live call, but a free live call expires. It’s no longer live so it’s no longer free, now it’s paid. Now, if you want access to weeks 1 and 2, it’s $97 and they come as part of a package deal. You’ve probably seen a lot of those kinds of things before in your niche. Where people have done, 12 different guru’s have gotten together and they’ve said we’re going to go together, and each one of us is going to teach once a week, and you can come for free, but if you think you might miss some of the recordings, it’s $97 and you’ll get every single recording. So, you can even do, it’s free if you’re live, but it’s paid if it’s a recording. Any way you want to do it. [Beverly] Great, thank you Sean. And, you’re right, I have seen that. That’s why I was thinking of doing it that way. As a way to get started. I guess I felt uncomfortable just charging, when I don’t know what I’m doing. [Sean] That’s fine, make it free, and 6 weeks from now you’ll have your paid product to sell for $97! [Beverly] Right, thank you! [Sean] You’re welcome. Let’s open the call, any comments or questions before we kind of wrap up for the day? [???] I guess I’m just crazy, because I just literally took a list of like 12 people and phoned 5 of them on a course I didn’t have yet, so they helped me create it. But I like the teleseminar sell on the 2nd call. That’s my comment. [Sean] Excellent, that’s another great way to do it, I do a lot of presell as well. I mean, almost every class I ever run is presold. I don’t create the material until people sign up. So, if 10 people sign up for the class, they all come on, and I create the material. [Roy] The question I have is based around how you set up and map out your email campaign. So, I sign up for coaching, and I’m getting all of these emails from you, and I know that’s automated. How did you set that up, as far as knowing which email you want to go out at what point in time, what is the next email that’s going to go out? And, when is that going to go out? As far as the automating of it on like AWeber, or Get Response, that’s not my question. It’s more along the content that you’re sending, and on why you send what content when. [Sean] Okay, for the coaching program? Or, for the sales campaign. [Roy] For the sales campaign. [Sean] Okay. Not sure exactly where to start. What I do is probably different than what most people will do. So, I’m going to tell you what I do and then I’ll relate it to what most people do. For me, I’ve done live campaigns for 6 years, every week a new campaign. When you do that, after time you find certain 5 day campaigns convert better for people that were in their first week than other campaigns. So, you have a campaign, I’ve run a live campaign before, and a strong percentage of people that have only been on the campaign for one week purchase that item. So what I do is I take that 5 day campaign and I put it into my automated campaign for week 1. Now, everybody who comes into week 1 gets that campaign. Then, I don’t do any of the manual campaigns for those people until after they’ve expired the 7 day period. Then I went into the campaign, and I say what’s the 2nd best? Okay, great, I’ll put that in the 2nd week. What’s the 3rd best, I put that in the 3rd week. What’s the 4th best, I’ll put that in the 4th week. Okay, and then after about the 4th week, generally it’s whatever the live campaign is. I’ll tell you, in theory, the automation forever and ever works, there’s not many people that can pull it off. Most people cannot. I’ve had a hard time pulling off total automation after the 4 week mark. And, most other people that are kind of my colleagues experience about the same thing. It’s very, very difficult to automate after that first 4 weeks. There’s 2 components though, in designing the campaign. I actually use 2 different delivery lists. So that I can keep them separate. When somebody joins my list, they’re actually added to the equivalent of 2 lists. One list has my content in it. So, my content is 30 days, and it’s not every day, it’s about every 2 out of 3 days. They’re going to get content emails, and for me there’s a 9am and a 9pm email. So, day 1 they get a 9am email, day 2 they get the 9pm email, day 3 they get a 9am email, day 4 they get a 9pm email. Now you ask, what’s the significance of a 9am or a 9pm email. The only significance is, that it has to be a different time than I send out the sales emails. So, to protect my own sanity, I just know that all emails in my content campaign go out at either 9am or 9pm, every other day. Okay, so why different times? I don’t want people to become conditioned to getting something at a certain time. Now, obviously, the best way to do this would be to randomize it every day, but since I’m merging it with another campaign, it’s easier to have the same time, for me, but, because I want to vary the time, I use AM and PM. Could we do a time-frame? 7-9am and then vary the times it goes out, have some go out at 7:15, some at 8:15. Yeah, you could do that as well. But, that’s what I do in my content campaign. Now, simultaneously with the content campaign, what I’ve discovered in my niche is that Tue, Wed, Thu, is an ideal setup for a 3 day sale. Tue, Wed, Thu. So, you introduce the sale on Tue, you do Q&A on Wed, and you do final chance on Thu. So, what I do is I queue the sales campaign up for the 1st Tue after somebody joins the list, and they get the 1st day of the 3 day campaign. So they’ll probably get 2 emails on Tue, one introducing whatever it is I’m selling, and then another explanation email. Wed they’ll get 1 email. Then Thu they’re going to get a final, this is your final day to get this. What it does after that is I say, the following week, the next Tue that rolls around, then they’re going to get sequence 2, and then the next Tue that rolls around, they’re going to get sequence 3. Does that make sense?

Number 1, are there people in your interest area that have needs that are being unmet? And then 2, are the people who have needs that are unmet, are they willing to invest money with you? You've got to find out both of those things. Folks have talked about in the past, and it's a fallacy, that you can just go online, do some quick research, find out how many people have needs, find out how much money they're willing to spend, and well, voila, you have your answer. I don't know that it EVER worked, but, if it ever worked, it doesn't work anymore. One of the old methods, and I think at one point I even taught an iteration of this, one of the old methods, when the internet was young. You would go online, and you would look for something that had lots of searches online, and it didn't have too many advertisers. But, it had some. The theory was, if there were some advertisers, well some people must be making money. People don't pay advertising if it's not working in the long run. You might start out advertising, but after a few weeks, or a few months of not making money, they tend to quit. It just works that way. We could look at some old formulas, and we could say, hey, if people are advertising, and lots of people are asking the question, well then, somebody is making some money, so maybe there's room for one more entrant. Another thing we could look at. We used to create these fancy algorithms to say if there's 100k searches, but there's only 5 advertisers, or whatever the case is, then we would say, well, now, that's a competitive niche, that's ultra-competitive, maybe stay out of it. All of these different types of things. The truth of the matter is, that today, number 1, it's much more difficult to get that search information. And, by the way, if you think you're getting that search information today, double check. There's a strong possibility that wherever you're buying it from, is selling you information that's really 3 years old. But, they're recalibrating it so that it looks like new information. The reason I say that is, to the best of my knowledge, for the most part, the providers of that information are no longer providing it anymore. The raw data is no longer there. Now, there's a huge industry around selling that information. But, the information doesn't really exist anymore. Certainly not, to my understanding, they way that it used to. If that's the way they used to look at it, but it doesn't work anymore. What else do we do? We'll talk about that in the next post! Let's look at the root issue here. The root issue is, we need people that have needs, and we need people who are willing to spend money. The easiest way for us to look at this. In fact, I want to give you an offline example: I want you to imagine that you're thinking about opening up a restaurant in your town. The first place that you would go to find out if maybe you needed a new restaurant in your town is to look and see what's happening with the restaurant scene. Are people filling up the seats in at least some of the restaurants downtown? Now, if some of the restaurants are empty, and some of them are full, that doesn't tell you that there's no more hungry people. If some of the restaurants are full, it tells you the food's probably bad in those empty restaurants. But, if there's a number of restaurants that are full, it probably indicates that there's a demand for good food in your town. That's the first step. Okay, some restaurants are full, so there must be a demand. There are hungry people. You sit outside with the binoculars and you watch how many people are coming around. You sit outside, you're downtown, you set up 100 yards away, 50 yards away, you set up your binoculars, or telescope, and you watch in 10 restaurants, and you just count how many people go into each restaurant. At the end of an hour you know 970 people have gone into those combined 10 restaurants. There are 970 hungry people on Friday night between 6 and 7. This is a fact! We know this now. We know that there's that many hungry people, and there's 10 restaurants. If you open a restaurant, and yours is as good as everybody else's, you've got a shot at generating 1/11th of all of that business. You know this. Next you go granular. You say, ok, we know we've got 10 restaurants. 970 people. What if we sit somebody outside the door of every one of these restaurants. We hire 10 people to work maybe an hour. We just tick it off, how many people entered this door, how many people entered that door. And if you find that there's a 97 person average on Friday night, some restaurants have maybe 300 people, some restaurants have only 5. What does this allow you to do? It allows you to realize those restaurants have better food, or food that people like. Maybe there's a Chinese restaurant, and Indian restaurant, American restaurant, French restaurant, Italian restaurant. You may say, well, the Italian restaurant is getting more customers. The Chinese restaurants not getting as many customers. Then maybe you have to go sample the food. Is it good food, or is it bad food? Do you see where I'm going with this? The only way that you're going to be able to get information about whether or not your niche is going to be profitable, and whether there's needs, without actually selling in the niche is to do some research - some searching. In your niche. I gave you this illustration because offline is the illustration that we can all really relate to. This idea of how would we determine if there's room for one more restaurant. You realize, offline, that you need to do the work. It's the same online. Okay, here are a few articles on how you can do that work online, now that you understand how important it is! People believe that. The read sales letters and even watch late-night infomercials about how many new niches, new opportunities there are. That data is made up for the purpose of the infomercials and the sales pages. This "data" is everywhere and says you can figure all of this out, with no "boots on the ground", in other words, with no work and without fully understanding what's going on. I say this because so often when someone reads something about choosing a niche, or how to find out what your marketplace needs, you are looking for an easy formula. The truth of the matter is: there... is... no... easy... formula! Building a Business in Real Life Think about this example: there is no easy formula to figure out if you need a new restaurant in town. Let's say you want to open up an Indonesian restaurant. And there are no Indonesian restaurants in your town. The only way that you'll actually know if that restaurant will work would be to open one.
