Redesign Your Life MRR Ebook

Sample Content Preview Who ever thought that humans could stay underwater for hours without coming to the surface for air? We lack gills, but we’ve managed to create the equipment needed for scuba diving and submarines. Who ever thought that we could combine a Walkman, camera, and mobile phone together? We did, and now we have smart phones, which can be carried easily in the palm of your hand. All of these started off as crazy ideas! So get ready to be crazy about your dreams and turn them into reality! Creating Your Vision Board In this chapter I’m going to be talking about a useful tool when setting your goals as mentioned in The Secret by John Assaraf. It is the creation of what is known by a, vision board. Creating a vision board could not be simpler if you only know precisely what it is that you really want and are willing to make the effort. It’s now time for you to find pictures, words, affirmations, photographs or cartoons that represent to you & your goals. It is also important that you find photographs of yourself in which you are in positive, optimistic, happy states. You will be sticking these pictures etc. on to your vision board, which is like a kind of collage of your goals and aspirations. It is important that you find these photographs of yourself because you will be placing yourself in the vision board hopefully doing the things that you really want to do, have, be and achieve. There are two ways that you can actually make the board. One way is to use a huge board and paste your pictures on it or you can use PowerPoint, Photoshop or keynote and create a board that you can print out. This cannot only be inspiring; it can be fun and exciting, too. Each time that you look at your vision board, and you activate your imagination to really see yourself achieving your goals, allow yourself to get into and enjoy the feelings of actually living out your goals in your mind, realistically, as if it is happening now and thinking about and imagining what is kinds of things you will be hearing on the outside, externally as well as the kinds of things you would be saying to yourself: i.e. positive self talk, you will be powerfully programming your subconscious mind to take you effortlessly to the full and complete realization of the goals that you set yourself. It’s important that you do not allow your vision board to sit around gathering dust. Rather, the daily study, the daily practice, the daily discipline of going back to your vision board, having it in a place where you will see it at least twice per day, for example, on your dressing table or above or beside your bathroom mirror, will help you to realize your goals much faster, with less effort and in positive, empowering ways. Continue to pursue this daily exercise of using your imagination to help you and your unconscious mind to focus on the achievement of your goals. In summary, make a list of your goals, go out and find magazine pictures, photographs — including of yourself — and design empowering affirmations, words or prayers that remind you in verbal format of what you are trying to achieve. Put yourself into a collage using what you have found and you have a vision board on your hands. The fun part and the part that is most left out of teaching about vision boards is the vision part or as the author has heard it said by wealth mentor Leslie Fieger, “Imagineering”, because it encompasses not only visual imagining, but tricking the mind into believing that the goal you want to achieve is actually being achieved right now, in this moment. This should be done daily and each time should feel terrific, as you experience yourself actually achieving your goals as a very “real” imaginary experience. So, allow yourself to have fun and enjoy the process of designing new life experiences that will enable you to have your dreams come true. Getting the Big Picture Visualization techniques People who are successful often employ the visualization process. If there is something you truly want, you need to put that big brain of yours to work. Imagine that what you want is right in front of you or create the path to get there in your mind. Dream about what you want and create pictures in your mind that show how it all develops. You need to be in the proper mindset to do this, which can be achieved using the following relaxation techniques. Move to a quiet place where you can remain undisturbed for about a 30- minute period of time. Sit in a comfortable chair, back straight and feet on the floor. You also have the option of lying down, although it is important that you only do so if you can guarantee that you will not fall asleep during this period of relaxation. Once you are comfortable, close your eyes and take a few deep, abdominal breaths. Breathe in through your nose, allowing your stomach to push out slightly. The goal here is to loosen up the diaphragm so that more air can enter the lungs. Hold your breath for the slightest of moments before allowing it to slowly escape through your mouth, bringing your stomach back to its normal position. In order to ensure that the proper breathing technique is being used, place a hand on your stomach so that you can feel the movements. Taking the time to perfect your breathing will make your visualization process easier each and every time. In your head, count backwards from twenty-five to one, breathing deeply as you do so. If you haven’t reached a relaxed state by the time you get to one, try again, only this time start at fifty and count back. As you perfect the technique, you might find that you don’t have to start with such a high number in order to become completely relaxed. Once in this state, think of something that you already have, which could be anything from your car to your job, or even just the roof over your head. Pay attention to how your mind and body reacts to possessing something with such total certainty. There will be no feelings of stress or anxiety when you think of these things, just the pure certainty of knowing. Allow yourself time to get used to this feeling and to fully embrace the serenity of it. Perform this process on a regular basis, as this will allow you to transfer those feelings of certainty and trust when you imagine the things you want during visualization. When you have put in as much time as is required for you to visualize all the possibilities, you then need to switch to focus mode. In the moments before you perform the action that will deliver the outcome you hoped for, place the picture of what you are about to do front and center in your mind. Visualization works, but you need to be comfortable, in a calm state, and free from worries. The whole process is like meditation in many ways, except that your mind is totally active. Visualization encourages you to use your mind and imagine all the possibilities that lie before you Meditation, on the other hand, requires you to basically cast all that aside and focus on a single thing.

Innovative Thinking: At the core of entrepreneurship lies innovation. Successful entrepreneurs possess a knack for thinking outside of the box, challenging the status quo, and identifying new opportunities. They constantly seek ways to improve existing products or services, disrupt industries, and meet unmet needs in the market. 5. Adaptability and Flexibility: The world of business is constantly evolving, and successful entrepreneurs adapt and evolve with it. They are quick to respond to changes, whether it’s market trends, customer preferences, or technologies. Those that embrace change and adjust their strategies accordingly are better positioned to thrive in these dynamic environments. 6. Continuous Learning: Successful entrepreneurs are lifelong learners. They possess a curiosity to explore new ideas, acquire new skills, and stay ahead of the curve. They invest heavily in their personal and professional development, seeking knowledge through books, mentors, networking events, and industry conferences. By constantly expanding their knowledge base, they gain a competitive edge and stay at the forefront of their industries. 7. Self-Confidence and Self-Belief: Believing in yourself is crucial for success. You need a strong sense of self-confidence, which allows you to take risks, pitch your ideas, and persevere through challenges. Successful entrepreneurs trust their instincts and have faith in their abilities, even when faced with skepticism or criticism. While some are born and raised with these traits and characteristics, they can be learned too. You can cultivate the mindset necessary to overcome obstacles, embrace innovation, and seize opportunities. How to develop a growth mindset and overcome limiting beliefs Remember, your mindset shapes your actions and outcomes. By fostering a growth mindset, or the idea that abilities and intelligence can be developed through dedication and hard work, you can continuously develop the skills and abilities necessary for entrepreneurial success. To shift your fixed mindset to a growth mindset, add the word “yet” to your vocabulary. When faced with a challenge or setback, remind yourself that you haven’t achieved success “yet”. This simple shift in language opens up possibilities and reinforces the belief that you have the capacity to learn and grow. It’s easy enough to embrace the idea that you need to cultivate your personal and professional development. You’ll want to embrace that concept that you should be always learning and growing. View every experience, whether it’s a success or failure, as an opportunity for growth and learning. Seek out new knowledge, read books, attend workshops, and engage in continuous self-improvement. There’s always room for new ideas and new paths. A growth mindset requires you to change your perspective of failure. Rather than seeing it as a reflection of your abilities, view it as a valuable learning experience. Analyze your failures, extract lessons from them, and apply those lessons to future endeavors. Try to understand that failure is an inevitable part of your entrepreneurial journey and an opportunity for you to grow and improve. Learning to identify the beliefs you hold that limit you is a large part of opening up that growth mindset. Limiting beliefs hold you back and are often based on past experiences or societal conditioning. Fight these beliefs by replacing negative self-talk with positive affirmations and reframe your mindset to focus on possibilities rather than limitations. Using the peers around you can help keep your mindset in check and aim for growth. Inviting feedback from mentors, peers, and customers is an opportunity to improve. Constructive criticism doesn’t have to be damaging. Work on developing the ability to separate your self-worth from feedback. It helps to surround yourself with a growth-minded community who have the same goals as you’re striving for. Strategies for maintaining motivation and resilience One of the greatest obstacles you will face is maintaining your motivation and resilience. Building and growing a business can be challenging and unpredictable, requiring strategies to sustain your drive and bounce back from setbacks. One key strategy is setting clear goals and creating a vision. Clearly define what you want to achieve and break down goals into actionable steps, providing direction and purpose. Understanding your “why” behind your entrepreneurial endeavors is another important aspect, as it connects you to your deeper motivations and helps you stay committed during difficult times. Celebrating small wins along the way boost motivation and reinforces that positive mindset. Taking care of your physical and mental well-being through self-care activities such as exercise, proper nutrition, and relaxation is essential. Building a support network of mentors and like-minded individuals provides guidance, inspiration, and encouragement.

For most people, it can take a while to develop a habit. In fact, biologically it can be 7 days before a habit is formed by repeating positive behaviors. When those new habits are reinforced you would be surprised by just how hard to recognize yourself. Instead of living life consumed by the effects of your negative habits and bad patterns, you may discover that you are a strong person who is capable of making great changes for yourself and your environment. To begin such a venture, you should definitely begin by tracking the current diet that you are following, even if it turns out that your current habits are not very healthy. Everybody makes mistakes, and when you follow a bad habit long enough, it can be difficult to do any differently. However, the trick is not in shaming yourself but in accepting where you are at and being completely honest and transparent about it. Not everybody is able to view the hard truths of a situation with the strength it takes to implement changes using the information they have observed about themselves, but it is something that can be drastically healing and a very useful tool in making positive life changes, now and for the future days to come. Once you have begun to track your current diet and have a good understanding of what it is that you are doing that may prevent you from making progress on your weight loss journey, it is a good idea to begin a food journal. A food journal is a great way to help you to keep track of recipes you want to prepare and creating meal plans that will help you to stick to a healthy diet full of fruits and vegetables. Not only that but it will help you a lot in creating the type of accountability you need to make healthy changes and stick with them. Your food journal can consist of the same record you took to see what your every day diet is generally like. But it doesn’t have to be. You could also use a different notebook to create your food journal. The food journal is a very useful tool in aiding weight loss and keeping on track with your diet. You want something that will help you to take accountability for what you are putting into your body every day, otherwise it can be difficult to remember that we are staying on track for a reason. Humans have a tendency to think on a short-term scale and lack the ability to plan for the future. When you are able to plan for future, such as using a food journal to help you to list ingredients and meals you need or would like to try, it can really give you a solid foundation and give you a rare opportunity to see how every single tiny choice you make can be something that either improves your future or prevents you from becoming the person that you want to be. When you understand the profound consequences of your every action, it will help you to think more in depth about the choices that you have to make on a daily basis. When you don’t understand, it can be nearly impossible to stay on track with a program or regimen that provides your body with the healing sustenance that it requires in order to thrive. It can be so easy to be addicted to bad foods. But by utilizing a food journal, you will be able to see when and where your cravings for certain foods may creep up. For example, you may realize that when you are stressed out or too tired to cook, you begin to crave things that are far more unhealthy for you. But when you are less stressed out or have plenty of time to cook, you find that you are a lot more okay with taking the extra effort to make sure you are eating healthy foods and doing things that will move your health forward. To best utilize a food journal, you should first and foremost make sure that you are being honest with your entries. Write in it every day, and try to record the foods you are eating directly after eating them. If you want to, you could also make a record of their nutritional value so you have a sense of what you are consuming on any given day, that way you aren’t surprised at the end of the week if you find you have either gained or lost weight. Next, as you may have considered with the word “journal” involved, you should also record how you felt about the foods you were eating and how you were feeling prior to eating said foods. You should also take some time to consider how you felt after eating these foods, because it can be very telling of a food’s nutritional content and compatibility with your body if you are able to accurately assess the moods you have following a certain food. For example, if you find you are intolerant to nuts or soy, but don’t have an outright allergy, you may find that after consuming such things you feel more irritable or moody or agitated. This is because your body has sensed a threat and you are receiving a stress response in order to deal with the body’s perceived threat. Pay close attention to what works with your body and what probably doesn’t agree. That will give you a chance to really assess what foods work for you in a way that is personal and in depth. This way, you will truly understand why it is not good for you to eat certain things, while others may not be so difficult for you to enjoy. Overall, having a food journal is a good way to get in touch with yourself and with your food. In most cultures, food is a spiritual experience that should be shared and enjoyed. It is given far more consideration than it is generally in north America. For this reason, it can be a great and healing thing to be able to take comfort in specific foods knowing exactly what type of relationships our bodies will have with those foods when they are put into our bodies. One of the most important keys in creating a foolproof diet plan is in knowing our bodies and being in touch with ourselves enough that we are making good choices as often as possible. when we are out of synch with ourselves, it can become nearly impossible to do what is best for us. But having a food journal is a great way to help us get our bodies and minds connected and focused on one of the key elements of improving our health and wellbeing.

If you walk into a meeting thinking that you can’t stand the people in the room and all you want to do is to go home, that would be walking into your meeting with a negative attitude. What’s important to understand about attitudes is how they are contagious. People with positive attitudes have been known to light up a room whereas those with negative attitudes drag everyone down with them. This is because we rely on the people we are around much more than we think we do. The people around you will influence how you think and act, which can be both very good, or very negative. Not only do your emotions make up your attitude, but your attitude contributes to your emotions and behaviors. If you have ever gotten into a cycle where your emotions and attitude feed off of each other, the impact that attitude has on how you feel is responsible. Many people believe that it is primarily our attitudes that drive our behavior. However, just as we talked about the impact of attitude on emotions, there is more to it than how you feel is how you will act. Doing something based on your attitude can reinforce how you are feeling, once again leading into a cycle. There are three main components to the impact of our attitude on our minds including the affective component, the behavioral component, and the cognitive component. Let’s discuss each aspect and how each is used to lead to the behaviors and thought processes that we have. The Affective Component of Attitude The Affective component of your attitude refers to your thoughts. If you have a fear of failure, the affective component of your attitude may look like you thinking “I don’t want to fail” or “I don’t want to look like a failure around all of my coworkers.” Knowing your affective component is the easiest part of understanding your attitude toward something. This is the surface layer of your attitude. Oftentimes, what you are thinking is your first reaction to a situation. It is your first thoughts when something happens or is what you are thinking when you first meet someone. With the affective component of your attitude being at the surface level, it is also the easiest aspect of your attitude to change and make more positive. We will come back to your thinking patterns several times throughout this book. The Behavioral Component of Attitude Attitude is comprised of your behavior towards something. Having a negative attitude toward doing a task can look like you dragging your feet while you walk, slumping your shoulders, or it can look like you avoiding doing a task because it makes you nervous or procrastinating. Your behavior is how you present your attitude to the rest of the world. More than your words, people will notice how you act while you are doing different tasks. That is why those who are successful have specific behavior that makes them look confident and that they know what is going on. You are more likely to feed off of someone else’s attitude based on their behavior rather than what they are thinking. While you can never know for sure what someone is feeling, you can always see how what is happening in their mind is reflecting in the way they behave. The Cognitive Component of Attitude Finally, there are your feelings and emotions about a topic. This is different than the affective component as with your cognitive thinking, you are feeling your attitude and how that impacts your perception of a task. In other words, these are the combination of your emotions and subconscious beliefs. While understanding your emotions is relatively simple, learning the subconscious reasons why you think and act the way you do can be much more difficult to pinpoint and therefore, harder to understand. Let’s go back to the example of having a fear of failure. While your affective component would look like you think “I don’t want to fail,” your cognitive component would look like “If I fail, I believe that everyone I know would hate me.” These are your beliefs about a topic that feeds into your attitude as this is how you will react to different negative situations that you may find yourself in. The cognitive component is on the deepest level of what impacts your attitude. While it’s the hardest to understand, it is also the most important to re-wire so that you can develop a more positive mindset. As we further on in the ways to cultivate a positive mindset, each of the methods and tips that we will give will have the ultimate goal of altering the cognitive components of your attitude. The Impact of Attitude How do these components come together? The ABC approach to your attitude serves as the foundation of your actions and the way you move forward. The affective and cognitive components impact the way your mind works whereas the behavioral component impacts how you act. Your actions are based on how you think and feel, which then either reinforce or change the attitudes you have. It’s important to understand your attitude even if you aren’t looking to use it to achieve your goals. If this resonates with you, don't worry. We will help you discover your interests so that you set off on a journey that you enjoy. Think about what you do with your free time. When you become an entrepreneur in an industry you already enjoy, you’re taking a great first step. For example, if you enjoy cooking, starting a culinary business could be an excellent idea. Alternatively, if you find things like cleaning or relaxing, you could start up your own cleaning company. Starting a business with something you already do in your free time is more natural than learning new skills. In addition, when you become an entrepreneur for a business without passion behind what you're doing, you can get burnt out. Talk to your loved ones about business ideas. It is common for new entrepreneurs to get extremely excited about their ideas. However, you need to understand whether or not these ideas are practical for other people. Discuss your plans with your friends and family to hone and simplify your business ideas, so you have a good starting place. Tell the people you care about that you want their honest opinions. You don't want them to soften the blow because starting entrepreneurship is a big investment. You need other people to help you cut out unnecessary parts of your business plan until you have the funds to bring them to fruition. Pay attention to your daily obstacles. Let us revisit the idea of joining the culinary industry as an avid cooker. This doesn't necessarily mean becoming a chef or restaurant owner, although you may assume that as a default. You can also pay attention to obstacles you encounter while cooking and develop products that combat the problem. Kitchen tools and utensils are a big industry because a lot of tedious work goes into cooking and baking. That's why you notice things like air fryers take off in popularity even though most people with modern ovens already have a conventional function. Your daily obstacles don't have to involve your passion, either. As you go about your day, consider things you can make convenient with a product, and work on your planning process. If a product already exists in this realm, think about ways you can improve it. Put your plan on paper. After you decide which product or service you want to bring to the world, start writing things down. It would be best to start a business-related journal to visualize what you are looking for in your company. You can always go back through this journal and add or edit things throughout your start-up development. You can start your plan off by listing budgeting information. Unfortunately, every feature you want your business to have comes with a fee. Creating a budget is the best way to ensure your business stays within the realm of possibility. Otherwise, it can be easy to get carried away and garner more debt than you can pay off. Get started on the boring aspects starting your business is not as glamorous as you may expect at first. You might discover that your start-up needs special licensing Before you get started. The boring parts of business development are annoying to deal with but important to overcome. Write down a list of boring things you need to do before you progress your business, so you know where to start. For example, if you need a license to start your business, go through that process before making big purchases. Understanding the Start-Up Ecosystem You need to familiarize yourself with the local ecosystem regarding your business. The first people buying your products will likely be people in your area. However, online start-ups are popular too, so if you want to sell online, you'll need to familiarize yourself with the digital ecosystem. When you join the start-up ecosystem, you must support other people with similar goals. In most situations, you would see these people as competition, but in this ecosystem, they are your network. In addition, some people in the start-up ecosystem might have similar products or services and can help you with your business plan. Remember, everyone in this ecosystem is new to the industry and working to improve their business. These start-up support programs are crucial for many businesses because having this network of people helps entrepreneurs understand their obstacles. People who start a business without a support network of other businesses don't experience as much success. First, let's talk about Angel investors and how they can help you. These people already have plenty of money and want to invest in small businesses to see them succeed. So they infiltrate these start-up company ecosystems to find the best people for their investment. In exchange, they receive equity as their business garners success. Next, it's time to discuss venture capital firms. These are financial institutions that support start-up companies and other new businesses. They will help you raise the necessary funds to get your business on the road. Alternatively, some people prefer to use crowdfunding websites for their start-ups. This option makes it easier for you to share what you want to do with others who know you. However, you'll need a network of people in addition to the website because there are plenty of crowdfunding opportunities others can sift through. If you don't want to rely on others for financial success, you'll need to get a standard business loan for your start-up. Unfortunately, if things don't work out, you still need to pay off this loan. So, this can be a huge financial risk for new business owners. In addition, if you have a history of bad credit, a bank is unlikely to approve you for a business loan. Validating Your Idea After you get a general idea of what you want to do, it's time to make this idea a reality. You can think about a concept all day and have it go nowhere if you don't act. So, how do you make this dream a reality? This section will help you visualize and realize your start-up. The first step you need to take is creating a realistic concept for your start-up company. That's why we mentioned talking to friends and family members earlier on throughout this guide. Your support network shouldn't let you go through with an idea that isn't realistic or valid. You can also speak to experts in the industry to see how valid your business concept is. For example, sometimes friends and family members don't understand how functional your idea is, but that doesn't mean it's not a good start-up. When you talk to other industry experts, they can guide you on whether your idea is good. If you notice anything wrong with your idea during this planning process, you'll need to revise and refine your plan. However, having little things wrong at the beginning is common, and you shouldn't let it deter you from starting your business. Validating your business ideas is the first step you need to take to create a start-up company. Conducting Market Research The first step you need to take to make your business dreams a reality is market research. Prepare your pen and paper during this research process so you don't forget crucial points. Ask yourself product questions you'll have when you mentally walk through your to-do list. You can start with basic computer research and expand on this later. Some of the market research you need to perform should be in person. For example, you can take classes on the subject at a university or community college to gain more insight. This will help you become an expert in your field before you make your investment. Getting a job within the industry is also a great way to get handson experience doing what you love. You may discover through this job that you're not as interested in the concept as you initially believe. Getting in the field and dealing with this product or service hands-on is the best way to understand what you're doing. After you gather as much research as possible on your start-up business, it's time to take action. This research will make or break your business because you could gain insight into problems you don't want to deal with. However, you can also find creative ways to combat these problems, so your start-up gains access without industry issues.
