Chapter 1:
Introduction to Web Traffic
There are an enormous number of ways that you can make money online. Whether you are selling advertising space, selling actual merchandise, or selling information, you determine your success or failure by your ability to get people to visit your site.
If you started a business and put all of your advertising on the side of dirt road with minimal traffic, then you probably won’t see any fruit produced by that effort. In the same way, you want your store to be located in a busy part of town where casual shoppers linger. Your best business may come from people who just dropped in while window-shopping.
The key to succeeding in any internet related business is traffic. You must find ways to lead potential customers to your front page. If you think you can rely solely on the search engines to put you at the top of their lists, then you may be setting yourself up for failure. Search engines use a complicated formula when deciding which pages show up first.
Unless yours is the only business of your kind in the world that has a web site, you probably won’t get to the top of the list. If for some reason you do, then you probably won’t stay there for very long. Corporations buy the rights to search phrases and generally pay big money for the opportunity to be highlighted at the top of the list.
One interesting point to keep in mind is that, the more traffic you have at your site, the more likely you are to slide up in the search engine results. The question then, is how do you get that initial flow of customers, clients, or readers to make your website a place that they regularly visit? This is the core question of this book and you’ll get plenty of answers to this question during the rest of the book.

Hello,
My name is Larry Dotson.
If you have even a passing interest in the topic of promoting information products, then you should take a look at the following information. This enlightening report presents some of the latest tactics on the subject of information marketing.
The more you understand about any subject, the more interesting it becomes. As you read this report you'll find that the subject of promoting information products is certainly no exception.
1. The "Author It" Tactic
Tell your prospects they can have the private label rights to your information product. People want to easily become an information publisher or author without all the work. They could add their name as the author of it, rewrite it, re-edit it, etc.
2. The "Time Involved" Tactic
Tell your prospects how many years, weeks or days it took you to write or compile your information product. People will find it more valuable because they'll realize just how much time was involved in creating it.

Introducing Email Marketing
1.1 Email Marketing Today
Since that fateful day in late November or early December of 1971 when Ray Tomlinson sent the first email using a ARPANET (the predecessor of what we know as the Internet today), email has changed...a lot.
The email that Ray Tomlinson sent was sent to himself. It has been reported that the message was “QWERTYUIOP” but he says that it was more likely to have been ‘testing 1 2 3 4”. It might have been the first email sent and possibly the last one that wasn’t a marketing email.J
Not really, of course but email is the primary communication choice of individuals and businesses world wide.
It became too popular for its own good. Everybody who had anything at all to sell or any message they wanted to promote discoved mass marketing email. Soon inboxes all over the world were overflowing with unsolicited marketing emails which came to be called SPAM.
In 2003 the problem of SPAM had become so big and so intrusive that the Congress of the Untied States passed the CANSPAM Act.
It became the law of the land in January of 2004. CANSPAM is an acronym for Controling the Assult of NonSolicited Pornography And Marketing.
The CANSPAM Act defines SPAM as unsolicited bulk email. Bulk email isn’t SPAM and neither is unsolicited email. To meet the definition requirements of SPAM in the CANSPAM Act, email must be both bulk and unsolicited.

Chapter 1: Focus on Only 3 Things
This is going to be short & sweet, but powerful, so hang on! When starting your Internet Business, you should focus on 3 things and 3 things only. They are none other than:
1. Sell,
2. Build your list, and
3. Sell again!
And that's it. There is really nothing else to it even as absurdly simple as it sounds. Regardless of what niche you are in, you should make these 3 goals your primary focus no matter what. And you make money only when you sell something.
You may come up with as many marketing strategies (no matter how fancy they can be) as you want, but they should all *still* focus on these 3 key tactics. Just as you can kick the ball any way you want in the football field, you score only when the ball clears the goal post.
By the same token, you make money only when you start selling, building your list and then sell again.
I thought you might also want to know: when several successful marketers were asked the question, "If you are to start all over again, what will you do first?" they often reply with answers that revolve around building their mailing list as their first priority.
This is how the phrase "the money is in the list" was coined. I am not known to join in popular opinion, but I will do anything that is time-tested for my Internet Business and you should, too!
So you can start your own newsletter, run a free or paid membership site, create your own product with Master Resell Rights, and so on - but they all must ultimately collect leads for your mailing list so that you are able to send even more offers to your list later on.
While it's a ‘given’ that there are many ways to build your mailing list, which is in itself a subject fit for another whole book, bear this in mind: don't feel guilty sending promotion offers to your mailing list from time to time, whether it be your own product or an offer you're an affiliate for.

1.1 The Expert Use of Article Marketing in E-Commerce Today
In the history of Internet Marketing, which is indeed still a short history, Article Marketing has always been one of the most effective ways to market a business or website at little or no cost. This still holds true today, and will most likely be true for many years to come.
Article Marketing is viral in nature. One article is written, and it travels from your computer to multiple article banks, providing back links to your website. From there other website owners copy the article, with the authors information in tact, and publish it in their newsletters or on their websites. They may even use your article as part of a compilation for an informative ebook.
The important thing is that the article becomes viral – spreading far and wide. This accomplishes many things. As already mentioned, this provides you with back links to your site that help with search engine optimization. Since your author’s information, or resource box as it is called, is at the bottom of the article, this gives your website a great deal of exposure, and increased traffic.
Article Marketing accomplishes a couple more things that are vital in ecommerce today. First, writing and distributing articles helps to establish you as an expert on the topic in question. Second, it helps to build a ‘relationship’ with people who read your articles, which in turn builds trust.
Successful Internet business owners typically write and distribute at least one article per week to the various article banks. They may use articles that they wrote for their newsletters as well for distribution, after the newsletter has gone out to subscribers. If the business owner does not write well, or doesn’t have the time to write their own articles, they typically hire a ghost writer to create the articles for them.

Chapter I: Introduction on Success
A sense of purpose leads to happiness
Having a sense of purpose in your life goes a long way to helping you feel confident, secure and happy. A sense of purpose can be brought about by anything in life, it can be related to your career, bringing up a family or doing voluntary work. It is all about fitting in and feeling you are making a difference in life, that you are achieving something and getting somewhere.
If you have a sense of purpose in life you have something to look forward to everyday, a reason for getting up out of bed in the morning with a smile, it makes you feel good on the outside and so good on the inside. It leads to a more confident person who is happy with their position in life.
Younger people very often have no problem developing a purpose in life, they are just starting out and the majority of them have exams to pass, careers to start building, meeting the opposite sex, dating, marrying and eventually starting their own families. The majority of the younger generation has a lot to look forward to and so have a sense of purpose in life.
However the older we get, uncertainty can set in and we can start wondering about our purpose in life. Perhaps the children have grown up and are no longer dependant on you. Relationships break up or we reach retirement age and no longer have our work as a purpose in life.
The older generation then has to develop a new sense of purpose in life, luckily there are many ways you can achieve this, and here are some of the more common ones.

Chapter I: Helping Ones Self for Self Improvement
Don’t Settle for Mediocrity
True success in life can only come by not settling for mediocrity, we should always strive to achieve and get the most out of life that we possibly can, it is only when we push ourselves and give it all we’ve got can we then give ourselves a pat on the back for a job well done. Success in life depends on selfdiscipline and not giving in at the first hurdle you come across or going into a project only half heartedly, by pushing yourself that little bit further you will be surprised at what you are capable of achieving, this is what separates the winners from the losers or the successful from the unsuccessful.
All people say that they want to succeed in life at whatever they do but very few are willing to actually push themselves them little bit further in order to achieve their goals, and this is why some of us succeed in life and others fail. How well you succeed is all about how bad you want the success, what it means to you, are you willing to succeed a little or are you willing to go the whole way and beyond to achieve a higher status and be outstanding?
We all start out with the best of intentions when racing towards the goals we have set, we shoot out of the starting gate and run down the straight but many of us fall back at the first hurdle, we don’t push, we run out of steam when the going gets tough and don’t pause to catch our second wind but come to a halt and give up, or stumble on half heartedly and cross the line in second or third place at best.
Those who do have the winning streak in them, who know that with a little extra push and a pause to catch their breath and then a final sprint down the home straight and past the winning post a head in front of their competitors are the ones that end up with the glory and true success in life.
Of course all those who are successful don’t just rely on pushing themselves, all winners have a strategy and are willing to be flexible on their way to success because life has a way of throwing many different spanners into the works along the way. We have to be able to adapt to these unexpected happenings when they occur and not get bogged down, we have to take them in our stride, skip around them and continue in the race.
