Rather, it is how engaged those followers and, and how much they buy into your brand. In other words: do people get what your brand is all about? Do they respond to your USP and value proposition? Do they buy into the lifestyle that you are promoting? Selling is emotional and so it is all about cultivating a feeling from your brand, while at the same time developing a relationship of trust with your audience. That is why brands that have Facebook pages that simply post about their latest offers don’t drive any sales. On the other hand, brands that post about things that matter to their audience, and that create amazing content, can drive sales with the click of their fingers! Email marketing is the ultimate expression of this. When someone hands over their email address, they are inviting you to contact them in a manner that is normally reserved for their close friends and contacts. People only sign up to mailing lists if they are highly engaged with what you are doing. And then, when they see an email from you in their inbox, they will listen. This is before we’ve even touched on the fact that email marketing is instant and will even result in a notification on your recipient’s device! That means you can choose the precise time of day they receive your message, which helps to control a number of important variables when it comes to driving sales. Or how about the fact that email marketing can be seamlessly integrated with a number of other marketing strategies, such as Facebook marketing? You can even use your mailing list to control who sees your Facebook Ads PPC campaign! More on this in a moment. Your objective then, is to build this kind of highly engaged list – a list of potential customers or clients, that you can monetize whenever you need to. And to do so without spending a dime. Summary: Benefits of email marketing • Email marketing is not reliant on a third party for your contact management • Very personal and direct • Timing is possible • Engagement is typically high • Integration with other marketing strategies • Powerful tools greatly extend potential Chapter 2: Crucial Tools for Building Your Mailing List So now you understand the importance of mailing lists, the next question is how you go about building one of your own. Essentially, you are going to need two things: a website and an autoresponder. A website is something that you should hopefully already be familiar with. Most businesses owners reading this will already have a website of some kind, but in case you don’t, it is recommended that you create a site using WordPress (www.worpdress.org). WordPress is a completely free Content Management System (CMS) meaning that it lets you control how content is displayed on your website, as well as easily add and remove posts at your leisure. Essentially, this works like a skeleton or template for your website, providing you with pages and a layout that can then be customized or refined using a little bit of coding or a free theme installation. You’ll need a hosting account to store the files, but other than that, the tool is completely free and endlessly powerful. More importantly, it has a lot of integration with major autoresponders and other software that we will be using. Autoresponder An autoresponder meanwhile, is a piece of software that will allow you to collect email addresses and then manage them along with the messages that you choose to send out. This is something that you simply can’t do without if you plan on building and using a large mailing list. That’s because the admin involved would otherwise be overwhelming. Imagine for a moment that you have a mailing list that you are managing manually that has over 1,000 subscribers. Every day, new people are signing up, and old people are leaving. Simply responding to every request to unsubscribe and then removing that person from your mailing list would start to become a full time job! Autoresponders handle all these types of things for you – hence the name. Not only that, but they can also provide a number of other useful functions that help with marketing. That includes such things as being able to see whether an email has been opened or not, and even being able to identify which members of your list is “most engaged” and thus most likely to buy from you. You’ll also use an autoresponders in order to collect your emails in the first place. This is because you will use an autoresponder to create your opt-in form. That form is where your visitors will fill out their details when they want to sign up. Most autoresponders will provide you with a basic designer where you can choose what fields you want (this will include the name and email address but might optionally also ask for other details such as sex, age, etc.). You’ll then be given a small snippet of code to add to your website, and once you do that, the form will appear in just the same way on your page. Now, whenever someone goes through the process of adding their details and hitting submit, their address will be added to your list. All that’s left for you to do then, is to direct visitors to that page in the first place, and then convince them to hand over their details. We’ll discuss that over the rest of this book. Choosing the Right Autoresponder When it comes to picking an autoresponder, there are a number of popular options: Aweber (www.aweber.com) In many ways, Aweber is the biggest email autoresponder out there and is favored by many of the bigger organizations. A good option that will provide you with all the features you could need. GetResponse (www.getresponse.com) GetResponse is a professional-grade tool similar to Aweber but the main difference is that it is focussed more specifically on autoresponder sequences. This gives you the most control over scheduled emails and automated responses. MailChimp (www.mailchimp.com) Favored by many new start-ups and smaller businesses. This tends to be a little cheaper and has a slightly more welcoming interface. It also has some more advanced features missing however and is a little slower and less polished than the competition.

In the first scenario, imagine a street filled with leaves, junk and stones representing your negative thoughts. You can realize how difficult it is for someone to make proper decisions and find on time solutions if your mind is not yet clear from negativity. Negative thoughts are the ones discouraging you from initiating a transformation process to achieve your goals in life. In contrast, a smooth and obstacle free road is the goal of the first module to understand and apply in daily life to achieve success in this journey. There are a number of ways to control negative thought process and replace it with healthy and positive visualization process. Here I am sharing the most effective steps to regularly adopt as the part of your daily routine. Meditation Daily 20 minutes, 1-2 times a day spent by practicing any form of meditation clears the negative thought process that materializes. The practice utilizing mantra or mindfulness meditation has proven effective to use in order to control negative thoughts or even eliminating them completely by countless research evidences. Your mind strongly holds and believes what you pay attention to. You are free to choose what you pay attention to. You are responsible for focusing on the things you want to focus on. This is what we call power of mind. You are in control of your mind and thoughts. Avoid negativity by focusing on a specific non-emotional object for a few minutes in morning and in the evening. Let the brain focus on you and ignore the thoughts. The feelings and sensations you experience during that time are priceless. Being mindful and empty on mind junk is crucial. It is the first step and skill to master in this journey. Another method we talked about is mantra meditation; chant a positive statement to induce positivity and combat negativity especially when tired, frustrated, phobic or worried and in distress. Examples are as follows- “I will succeed in the basketball match this year” “I am doing my best” “This too shall pass” Hopelessness and despair are very destructive and detrimental to one’s health and mind power. Accept the importance of this step to shift from step 2. Keep on taking action, growing, improving, learning and understanding. Recognize your negative mind and fill it with positive power with keeping in mind that negative thinking is natural and not 100% avoidable but can be managed. Finding Clarity Having a clear idea about what to expect next from future, an upcoming day, task, an outcome with possessing a positive through process, healthy mindset and optimism picked from good experiences is what you need to focus on. Only then you can achieve what you want. Finding clarity means having a clear understanding of what you want to achieve over time and what your plan about how to move forward, it is about taking necessary steps when needed. Making SMART goals is a great approach when it comes to preparing goals for your life whether short or long term. Prepare goals daily and review on daily basis, make note that they must be: Short Measurable Achievable Realistic Time based Take a look at this smart goal “I will meditate daily for 20 minutes before sleep to overcome my negative thoughts and reduce their intensity.” Now closely take note how it is specific and short (meditate for a week), measurable (daily note taking to check if done properly), achievable (before sleep is the time best for it because its calm and silent and free of distraction), realistic (within in capacity and easy to do by lying on bed with eyes closed and lights off with comfort level) and time based (20 minutes per day) Clearing off the mind has another method that directly attacks negative thoughts. This is done by creating a totally opposite (positive) thought by focusing on the positive and benefits of the situation. We find it hard to have a positive outlook on life as our mind is accustomed to have a skeptical approach on things which usually includes the “what ifs” and “what happens” if you fail. Negative automatic thoughts are something you can get rid of, remind this to yourself anywhere and anytime when your pessimistic thoughts get the best of you and influences your state of mind as well as actions. What you focus on expands. Everything is within your choice. When you choose to give in to your negative thoughts, the outcome will be negative. However, when you focus your mind and energy on positive threads and make this a habit, you are able to see a significant transformation in everything you do. Overcoming The Shadows Of Delay Motivation has barriers including confusion, unrealistic goals, and loss of the sense of reward, poor strategy to do routine practice, irrational thoughts and goals related gaps. It is common to experience all of these barriers but that does not mean you should give up on your dreams and delay your progress in achieving them. You must keep your motivation going and have the feeling of urgency to pursue what you want as there is no such thing as the right time. Every second counts and you either do it or you don’t. This seriously helps you to set your mind to focus. Focus with a clear, concise plan of action. Try these tips out to kick off the lazy circle of delay and grab dose of daily urgency to drive you to a step forward for dreams, goals and ambitions. Make sure you are deeply interested in whatever you intend to do. Then, take action! - Keep your daily routine busy, use your attention for something valuable - Keep your mind filled with positive thoughts. This will influence your outlook on things and how you execute your day to day tasks - Practice an active lifestyle. Physical activities have a direct influence on both your mental and physical well-being - Keep your spirits high and search for things that will keep you to stay motivated - Always fill your thoughts with healthy, safe and positive mantras/statements that you can relate with, where it will help you visualize your fruitful outcomes and polish the art of manifestation for your self-designed destiny You are responsible in manifesting your dreams. Help yourself in making your dreams come true. Give credits to yourself for your positive mindset as well as coming this far.

Health goal specifics vary from person to person, but in general, the main goal whether weight loss, weight gain, or better eating habits, it is always to become a healthier version of you. Hiring a personal trainer doesn’t necessarily mean that you want to lose weight. Personal trainers deal with weight gain, muscle gain, heart health, sports training, and many other areas. When you’re deciding on your goals and what you want to pass over to the trainer, ask yourself the following questions. What is my ideal weight? Schedule an appointment with your physician and discuss with them what your personal, ideal Body Mass Index and Weight should be. While you can easily search the internet to find out what your weight should be, your healthcare professional can look at your medical history and take everything into consideration before giving you a number. This is especially important if you’re on medication that slows down your metabolism. Once you have that number, write it into your Vision Board. What areas of my body need the most work? If you want slender arms and legs, then print out stock images of your ideal look and post them on your Vision Board. The same goes for any other body part that you want to change. It’s also a good idea to post pictures of exercises designed to tone those areas! Remember, be realistic with your expectations and base them on your body, not the model in the picture. Do I want to train for a specific sport? If you’re meeting with a personal trainer because you want to participate in a specific sport, then print a picture of that sport out and post it on your Vision Board. For example, if you want to run a marathon, then post a picture of marathon runners on your board. Fliers for a specific marathon you wish to participate in are also good motivators. Remember, seeing is believing, and believing drives you to work that much harder to achieve your goals. So, whatever your goal is, make your Vision Board and hang it proudly where you can see it every day. Tip #2: Reprogram Your Mind Our bodies are designed to protect us, and our brains are our strongest armor. The brain automatically attempts to shield us from anything that creates a feeling of anxiety and nervousness. Changes to our normal way of life and routine can create those exact feelings. When your brain senses that, it will attempt to derail you from those changes as protection for the unknown. But don’t let it. When you meet with your personal trainer, discuss the issues of change. Repetition and a positive mindset can help settle those anxious feelings. It’s important for you to develop your own positive routine in order to reprogram your mind to understand you are doing what’s best for it. Whether it’s having to wake up earlier for an exercise session, or not indulging in a quick trip to the fast food restaurant, your personal trainer will be there to help you break the negative cycle with minimal anxiety. A personal trainer will help you tackle the hardest parts of sticking to a healthy lifestyle. Recognize What Holds You Back: If work often gets in the way of exercising, the trainer may have you commit to a specific time, every day, to exercise. This will take out the interference of work, and open you up to a new routine. Retrain Your Way of Thinking: Whenever you’re not in the mood to workout, a personal trainer will motivate you through a dedication not just to them, but to yourself as well. As soon as your brain begins to bargain with your workout, get moving. A body in motion, stays in motion. Your trainer may have you create a list of affirmations you can repeat to yourself, when you are feeling particularly lazy or unmotivated. This is only natural, and will lesson over time. Tear Up Your List of Excuses: Personal trainers oftentimes have you participate in a symbolic gesture in order for your brain to connect to that negativity and assist in helping you continue on your path. By writing down all the reasons you have to NOT workout, and then tearing those up, you are symbolizing your intent to bypass that reasoning and do what you know is best for your body. Nobody is perfect, and it’s only normal to have days where working out seems like torture. But a good personal trainer will not only acknowledge this, but will go out of their way to help you overcome those feelings! Tip #3: Take Baby Steps The decision to turn your life around is exciting, but can also be overwhelming. Deciding to change your health and eating habits is a big step in itself, and can often be decided on in just a moment’s notice. But once you’ve decided what you want, start to slow down the process just a bit. Here are a few ways to start out slow. Replace One Meal a Day: Do you get a muffin with your coffee-to-go order every day? Consider having a bowl of oatmeal and some form of protein on the side before hitting up that drive-thru. You’ll be too full to order a muffin, but you can still enjoy your coffee. Start Your Day with A 5-Minute Cardio Session: If you’re new to exercising and really need to take it slow, then consider doing a five-minute cardio burn every morning. There are plenty of options readily available online, and doing so will help prepare you for your longer, more intense sessions with your personal trainer. Drink More Water: You’ve probably heard this hundreds of times, but getting enough water really is one of the most important things you can do for yourself every day. It’s not an easy switch from soda, though. Start out slow by replacing an eight-ounce cup of water for one serving of soda per day. From there, move up as quickly as you can, until water is your main source of hydration.

Before you grab a plate, remember that quality is more important than quantity. Pay attention to what you’re about to consume, not how much. Just because you’re eating a salad, doesn’t mean its necessarily good for you. Dressings can contain simple sugars, chemicals, and heavy fat content. In reality, eating too much of anything is bound to make you feel bad, regardless of how good it tastes. Just think about the last time you ate a few too many slices of pizza! Here are some tips for you when you’re creating your meals. Portion Size of Meat: A grilled or broiled chicken breast, lightly seasoned, is a great source of lean protein. But it should be about the size of your palm, roughly 6-8 ounces. You can also purchase a food scale to weigh your food before or after cooking for a more precise measurement. If it’s too big, trim some off and save it for your next meal! Ease Up on The Pasta: Most people would probably agree that pasta is delicious, but a serving is actually about the size of your fist. That doesn’t seem like much. Remember that pasta tends to fill you up very quickly. Have you ever felt bloated after eating too much spaghetti? Then you probably ate more than a fistful! Invest in Smaller Dinnerware: You know those small plates that come with dinnerware sets, the ones that are supposed to be used for snacks? Well, they can actually make great dinner plates! Depending upon how small yours are, try using one of those for your next meal and take note of your level of satisfaction compared to eating off the larger plate. Mentally, your brain sees a full plate, and though it isn’t as much food as the other plate, you are getting your fill and then stopping. With the larger plate, you would have continued until you had eaten too much. Just remember that size matters when it comes to what you’re eating. Even if something is good for you, such as grilled chicken or a lean burger, you can still have too much of it! Tip #3: Celebrate Small Victories Not a single person out there goes from unhealthy to perfectly fit, with all positive habits, overnight. It’s not possible. What is possible is creating small changes that lead to small victories. Those small victories will eventually graduate into larger ones. The decision to commit to a healthy lifestyle is a huge undertaking. First off, you should start your new journey off with a celebration. Get excited about taking the first big step toward a better and healthier you. Next, make sure you are realistic with yourself and know that there will be times that you will have to force yourself to get up, to eat healthy, and sometimes it can be a real struggle. It won’t last forever. With time and commitment, your goals will slowly come closer into focus. The best way to keep yourself motivated is to celebrate every small victory along the way. No matter how small something is, you should always take time to congratulate yourself for working so hard! Here are a few of those milestones you should be celebrating. Working Out Five Days in One Week: If you’re going from a sedentary lifestyle to an active one, then you’re in for a major change, possible shock. It’s not easy giving up those nights on the couch, scrolling through your phone while binge-watching your favorite shows. But when you make the sacrifice and give up some of that time to work out, and do it for a full five days, then you should celebrate your achievements! Losing Just One Pound: If you have a significant amount of weight to lose, it can seem like an uphill battle that can’t be won. But guess what? It absolutely can be won! Remember that when you step on the scale and it only goes down by one number, because it’s bound to happen eventually. The truth is, even one pound is an accomplishment. To compare it to something you can visualize, one pound of fat is the same volume as a pound of butter. Not too shabby! Better Quality of Life: It’s common for those of us who are overweight to easily become out of breath doing every day simple activities. Walking, climbing the stairs, even talking too quickly can turn into a case of heavy breathing. With daily exercise and more nutritional foods, your cardiovascular system will begin to heal, and if you’re paying attention, it doesn’t take forever.

The Power Of Social Media Stories For Marketers MRR Ebook

Sample Content Preview Stories for Trust, Engagement, and Personal Brands It is common knowledge that most buying behavior is based on emotion rather than logic. We buy things because we see them in the store, think they look desirable, feel tired, and are worried we’ll miss out if we don’t buy. That’s why, often when we go away and really think about a purchase prior to making it, we decide better of it. With emotion being such a key factor when it comes to spending, it should be no huge surprise to learn that we are more likely to buy when we feel that we really know, understand, and like the seller. Better yet if we feel that the seller has views that agree with our own. This puts us at ease. We feel better about buying from someone we know because we feel it’s less likely they’re going to try and con us. Likewise, we often want to please the seller. Finally, if we feel that their beliefs are aligned with ours, then we might feel as though buying from them will in some way “align” us with them and help to strengthen our sense of identity. And that’s where Stories come in. Many businesses will create a lot of marketing and advertising that is highly polished and staged. Products look perfect with ideal lighting and professional-looking backdrops, while the personality selling the product is never shown. We feel very detached from these kinds of brands, which is why the average person doesn’t exactly shed a tear when they feel that a big corporation is going bankrupt. This is even MORE true when it comes to selling B2B a lot of the time. This method is getting increasingly old-fashioned though, as the company in question fails to build any trust, to demonstrate anything that would make it unique or stand out, or to demonstrate any personality. If you run an online business, then your Instagram account might have the same problem. It might well be filled with lots of stunning looking images of products, or perhaps lots of inspiring quotes, or photos of your lifestyle that are designed to look perfect. This is the image you want to portray, and you know that by including even one unpolished looking photo, you will make the entire account look less messy. But this is where the nature of the Story is ideal. This is a TEMPORARY image that will never be included on your profile. That means you can include anything you like here, and in 24 hours it is going to be gone. This in turn means you’re permitted to peel back the curtain just a little, and to show your followers “how the sausages are made” so to speak. Stories can be the kinds of insights that you would never include on the main account, but that help to give you a little personality and help to make you seem much more approachable. Let’s say for example that you were a high profile lawyer, you could use Stories to share aspects of your life – not only the travel and nice hotels, but also your preference in sandwich, your gripes with the queues at your bank… you know normal stuff. Likewise, a local business might share a Story about a fun customer who came into their store. Or about the parade outside that is driving away customers. They might even include a photo of their dog, or a short post about how they loved the latest Marvel movie. Things like that might not sound like strategies that would gel with traditional approaches to business… But that should be considered a GOOD thing. This is not a traditional approach to business, but a much more modern strategy for improving relationships. These posts don’t need to be on-topic, but they do need to be on-brand in as much as they should show a side of you and your business that you want to be seen. In the next chapter, you’ll see just how this kind of interaction can not only strengthen relationships, but also invite meaningful interactions that translate to sales. If you’re worried about being too personal, then you can use this as a kind of “behind the scenes” to show you setting up the shop, or your staff enjoying drinks out. What’s even more effective though, is if you choose to create a “personal brand.” Stories for Personal Brands A personal brand essentially means a brand that puts the owner (that’s probably you) front and center. Rather than promoting X company, you instead promote yourself as a sole trader. This doesn’t necessarily reflect on the size of the company, or even it’s structure. Most companies began as one or two people. It’s rather a conscious decision early in the business’s life, to push the individual. And for all the reasons we’ve discussed, this is a very powerful thing. So instead of being RXPlumbing LTD, you might instead be John Dandy and Co Plumbing. The difference is that the John Dandy is a person that you feel you can “know” rather than a faceless company. Even if you never deal with John Dandy, the implication is that he’s there, and that if you had a serious complaint you could talk with John Dandy. And this opens up huge potential for marketing that otherwise would simply not exist. You can now, for example, do a live Q&A with your followers and they can actually speak with the owner of the company! Likewise, you can show them some of the homes that you’ve visited and how you’ve helped them, and they’ll not only get to see a demonstration of the great service you can provide, but will also get to see even more of your personality. Have you ever found that one plumber or electrician who you know does a good job and who you know will turn up on time? And then you never feel the need to use anyone again? What if you could become THAT service provider, even without ever having met the customers yet? Stories for Social Media Influencers There is one more group that should definitely sit up and take notice of Stories: social media influencers. Scratch that. Most influencers are already ALL OVER stories because they know just how important they are. The group that should get involved then is the aspiring influencers group. The people who want to become influencers, but haven’t quite got there yet. And this goes for bloggers too, because like it or not, you’re essentially just an old-fashioned type of influencer. An influencer is someone for whom the personal brand IS the business. That’s someone that inspires, entertains, or educates an audience to the point that the audience trusts their recommendations implicitly. The creative doesn’t necessarily sell a product of their own (though they may) but they have so much clout that they can generate huge amounts of cash from simply wielding their influence. For example, did you know that the going rate for a sponsored post on an Instagram account with 200,000 followers is $1,000? On YouTube it’s $1,000 for every 100,000 followers! That’s BIG when you consider that there are PLENTY of accounts out there with over 1,000,000 subscribers/followers. That in turn equates to $10,000 for a single post. On Instagram it takes about 2 minutes to post an image! In other words then, the potential ROI for a successful social account is gigantic. And how do you get to that point? Using stories is an absolutely essential way for all the reasons we discussed – it lets people come along on your outings and feel that they know you. That they’re a part of your story. While simply posting Stories as you go about your day is a great way to help bring your followers along for a ride and show off what you’re all about, this is also only part of what makes Stories so effective for increasing engagement. Because the real value of Stories is in the way that they can facilitate communication. When you open up to your followers in this natural and organic way, in a format that feels very instant and current, you invade people to respond. And THIS is where you can potentially make a massive difference in the way that your followers see you. For example, let’s say that you have a store selling hair products. You can post beautiful pictures of women’s hair, or well-lit bottles to your main feed all you like, but if you post a short video of yourself talking naturally to the camera about how you tried the latest product that just came in and your hair feels AMAZING, then that is infinitely more engaging. And notice that in this example, you never actually said what the product was. You just said something new that came into your store. This is the critical aspect, because it means that you have invited a conversation. That in turn means that you can sell directly to those leads. Now of course, directly messaging every single person in order to sell a bottle of shampoo might not be the most time efficient method of doing business. But if you imagine that this is a big ticket item – perhaps tickets to see a seminar you run for $1,000 – then suddenly it’s a lot more viable. Moreover, you can also do this with products that you aren’t selling! Giving people tips throughout the day and doing so via message, is a brilliant way to really establish some rapport with those people. It lets them feel as though they’ve just got a great “insider tip” from a mate, and that’s going to drastically increase their chances of checking out your next post, or of buying your product even. Announcements and Sales Another great way to make use of Instagram or Facebook Stories is for announcements. Stories are displayed extremely prominently on most social media platforms, meaning that they’re often one of the first things that users encounter when they land on the sites. Not only that, but if you haven’t posted a story in a while, then they will be notified that you have. This of course is an excellent way to grab their attention when they might otherwise not have been about to engage with your brand. An announcement can mean that you are introducing a new product or service, or it can mean that you are running a special deal. Either way, this gives you an excellent way to alert people and potentially to drive some sales. The best part is that the nature of Stories means that viewers will know they’re not looking at a live post – that this sale is happening NOW. When it comes to Stories for business, the biggest platform you are likely thinking of is Instagram. Yes, it might have been Snapchat that started it all, but Snapchat remains a relatively obscure option that only has so many users and that appeals to a very specific niche in the market. Instagram on the other hand is the second largest social media platform in the world, second only to Facebook. But while that might lead you to think that it would be Facebook that would be the ideal choice then, the fact that Instagram is initially designed from the ground up to be a visual platform makes a huge difference here. People use Instagram because they want to see images and videos. That makes it the perfect place to share Stories and to promote your business in a visual manner. It gets better too, because this is the ideal time to start using Instagram Stories for business. Like any type of Story, Instagram Stories have the potential increase your engagement and to raise trust with your audience. At the same time though, they are also very much on the up and up in terms of user base.

Sample Content Preview Eat Right and Mind Your Diet It sounds simple to eat right, but with all the fad diets and questionable plans out there, the best thing you can do is just to eat right for your needs. No matter what type of diet you go on, eating fresh local produce is better for you than any other type of food. Try making half your plate veggies and a fourth of it fruit, and you will automatically feel healthier. Your mind will become sharper too. The reason is that your brain needs glucose to work best, and the easiest way to use glucose in a healthy way is from fresh produce like fruit and veggies. * Eat More Fruit – Some people are afraid of fruit but if you don’t have diabetes, you can and should eat fruit. Don’t drink fruit; eat it. Eating berries is especially very good for you. Fruit is fantastic for brain health. The more colorful the fruit, the more you should eat of it. Dementia is marked by plaque build-up in the brain, but fruit can help reduce that. * Eat More Veggies – Just like fruit, veggies help reduce oxidative stress which is thought to be one of the causes or contributors to different forms of cognitive decline (including various forms of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease). This makes veggies one of the most important things you should consume. * Drink Lots of Fresh Filtered Water – Most of us are walking around slightly dehydrated because we have learned to ignore our thirst cues. In fact, your body wants water so much that sometimes it tells you that you are hungry in hopes you’ll eat something with moisture. Your brain cells require a certain balance of compounds, including water, to work properly. If you are fully hydrated, you’ll be less likely to suffer cloudy thinking. * Avoid Processed Food and Sugar – Every diet that exists asks that you stop eating processed food and sugar. No one is ever going to say that it’s a good thing to eat this stuff. Therefore, regardless of the type of diet that you choose to follow, stop eating processed food and sugar as much as you can other than the occasional treat. * Eat Fewer Simple Carbohydrates – While today there is no such thing as "complex carbs" or carb combining to create a "complete" protein, the fact is that some carbohydrates can contribute to weight gain as well as blood sugar issues in some people. White rice, white noodles, white pizza crust are all examples of this. However, you don’t need to stop eating it; just eat less and watch your serving sizes. * Eat Healthy Protein – When it comes to eating protein, your body needs some protein to run properly. However, it can make protein out of the food you consume if you are consuming enough calories. You only need about 15 percent of your caloric intake to be from protein, but you can go up to 30 percent if that makes you feel better. Choose from lean fish, turkey, chicken, beef, pork, and tofu. Choose cage-free, grass-fed, organic choices in the right serving sizes, which for most people is about the size of the palm of your hand. * Eat the Right Serving Sizes – Whether we like it or not, calories matter. You can find out what your calorie needs are by looking at a chart, or you can even get tested to find out how much your body metabolizes. Just go by the weight you want to be on the chart (https://www.calculator.net/calorie-calculator.html). For example, a 5-foot 5-inch 52-year-old woman who weighs or wants to weigh 135 pounds can eat about 1223 calories a day if she only sits around and never moves. That’s the baseline that she needs to maintain this weight. * Eat When You’re Hungry – You really don’t need to eat at prescribed times. Just because the clock says it's time to eat, doesn’t mean you need to eat. If you are not hungry, you don’t need to eat. If you just eat when you have real stomach hunger, you usually can’t overeat. If you need to be on top of your game brain-wise, it’s a great day for starting the day with a fruit and yogurt smoothie bowl. When you focus on eating right at least 80 percent of the time and moving enough at least 80 percent of the time, guess what - you will experience at least 80 percent of the results that you wanted before you started. This is just a way to tell you that you don’t have to be perfect to experience the benefits of eating right when it comes to your brain health. Add in exercise, and you can eat more and still benefit from a proper diet. Exercise and Move More No matter your age or physical fitness level right now, moving more is going to benefit you unless you have an illness where your doctor asks you not to move. And that is very rare because the human body simply works better when it’s in motion regularly. In fact, it’s said that sitting more than four hours a day at a stretch is worse than smoking. And, one of the very best things you can do for your health is not to smoke. So, it makes sense that you need to move more. But, like most things, it really doesn’t take much to make exercise pay off. * Do What You Love Doing – Don’t think that you must do any type of exercise you don’t like. You don’t. You can find something that will work and that you like doing and can get through without too much discomfort. The important thing is to do something each day. Even if all you do is go for a twenty-minute walk after dinner, that’s better than doing nothing. * Try Something Once – If you’re not sure about something and you think it’s safe for you to try (ask your doctor if you’re unsure), go ahead and try it at least once. You might love rebounding, hot yoga, or pole dancing. Who knows what you will like until you give it a try? Hint: trying something new can become the entire exercise when you’re being active. You don’t have to do anything twice. * Try a Group Class – One way to get motivated is to go to a group class. Group classes often have an emphasis on helping motivate each other. It’s also fun to socialize at the same time. Try a group water aerobics class or if you are at a higher level, try a group cycling class so that you challenge yourself more. * Do It at Home – Even if you don’t want to be around other people when you sweat, today you can do so much at home. There are videos with any type of exercise class you want to join that you can watch right on your television anytime you want to. These can be found on Amazon Prime or you can rent or purchase them. * Find a Friend – If you have some energetic friends already, get together to do some form of exercise. You can make it a regular date with each of your friends to do something physical together. For example, you can hike with Sue on Sunday and go to Jazzercise class with Rebecca on Tuesday.

The Beginner’s Guide To Motivation MRR Ebook

Sample Content Preview However, you choose to use meditation, the implication is clear that it is a practice that works, and it has for a very long time. This art is thousands of years old, and when utilized properly, can really change the way you view yourself and the situations in your life. There is a reason it has survived this long, and that reason is that it is incredibly effective. If it wasn’t, it would have died out by now. Are you ready to learn the basics of meditation? This guide will show you how! If you’re not quite convinced that meditation is the way to go, that’s fine. Just because it’s been used for thousands of years doesn’t mean you should jump on the bandwagon. If it’s scientific evidence you’re curious about, then there is plenty of that too. Studies have shown that meditation can not only help to reduce stress and anxiety symptoms, even in people with anxiety disorders, but there is also a correlation between meditation and lower blood pressure. Other scientifically proven benefits of meditation include sounder sleep and even a better memory. And if you are suffering from chronic pain symptoms, or any aches and pains in general, meditation has been shown to help manage these and improve your quality of life. Not only that, but people who meditate are less prone to low self-image. They tend to gain more insight into themselves that can help them to structure their lives in a productive way and make choices that truly benefit them and their goals. Meditation can increase your level of emotional understanding and help you to healthily compartmentalize your thoughts and emotions in a way that is constructive. If you find that you are often times overwhelmed by the world around you, meditation is a great way to let go of those stressful feelings and take a moment to recharge and get yourself back on track. Because of the stressful state of the world we live in, a lot of people turn to negative coping mechanisms. It can be very easy to gain access to things that claim to ease our stress, like cigarettes or alcohol or other addictive substances. And a lot of people do turn to these things as their escape. It is easy to do and these negative things are very accessible in our culture. It is unfortunate how easy it can be to become an addict. Even if your addiction is something as innocent seeming as an addiction to unhealthy foods. However, meditation can prove an even better coping mechanism. And, if you know you or someone you love has an addiction, meditation is actually scientifically proven to help redirect the attention of an addict from a negative substance to one that is not so harmful. Meditation is a great way to help you change the course of your thinking and reprogram yourself to be more mindful and focused on positive changes rather than negative. Addiction can be difficult to get through alone or without resources, but utilizing meditation as a resource for recovery is a great tool. It can help you look inwardly, hold yourself accountable for your actions, find insight into why you may act the way you do and the triggers that cause you to reach out to your addiction, and also provide you with a healthy outlet for your stress and anxiety that helps you to feel refreshed and renewed with a better outlook on life without resorting to negative coping strategies like the thing you are addicted to. It may not be a perfect fix or the one thing that will make it possible to quit your addiction or make your life a hundred percent better, but it is definitely something that you can use to your benefit and help you gain insight into yourself and your behaviors so that you can interrupt the negative patterns and replace them with positive patterns. Anybody can take a time out and focus on the light in your life rather than the darkness, and doing so has many scientific benefits that will help you to keep moving forward, even when there are times that moving backward might feel like an easier choice. We have the power to create the life we want for ourselves. There is nothing more important than figuring out what it is we are doing to make progress toward our goals and maintaining ourselves and our peace of mind, body, and spirit. Meditation is one of those things that can help all three, so utilizing it for yourself is an incredible joy. But don’t just take the word of this guide for it. Instead, consider implementing it for yourself! If you are curious about the ways you can use meditation for your personal progress, the next few chapters will outline the different types of meditations you can use to really get the ball rolling in the right direction so that you can improve your life! Mindfulness meditation is a very good practice. If you find that you have any issues with dissociation or staying in the present, then mindfulness meditation is a sure-fired way to help you get where you need to be. When staying in the moment is difficult or anxiety-inducing, mindfulness meditations can help you to re-center yourself and guide your mind back into a place that feels safe and comforting. People who have suffered from trauma find this method particularly helpful. If you experience triggering events that can be difficult to endure, or have post-traumatic stress disorder, then mindfulness meditations can help to pull you out of the frightening triggers and into a mindset that is much easier to handle. It interrupts bad thought processes and allows you to focus instead on the immediate world around you. Mindfulness meditation is something that everybody can experience. It doesn’t take a special pose or a certain place. Rather, you can perform a mindfulness meditation simply by closing your eyes and inhaling deeply. It is possibly one of the simplest forms of meditation out there, and certainly one of the most beneficial! To perform a mindfulness meditation, the key concept is simple. You want to make sure that you are focusing on the present and truly aware of the things that are going on around you. Let’s say you are having an anxiety attack and having a difficult time grounding yourself afterward. Instead of letting yourself linger in the panic you feel, you can either physically remove yourself from whatever situation you are currently in that may be making your panic worse, or close your eyes and inhale deeply. While your eyes are closed and you are forcing yourself to take deep, steady breaths, allow yourself to consider every single one of your senses. What are you feeling with your fingertips? Is it your own hand balled up into a fist? Are you holding something? What do you smell? What scent is lingering in the air around you? What do you see? The darkness behind your eyes? Do you notice if there are some spots that may be lighter if you are facing a light source? What do you hear? Is there a machine somewhere near you making a gentle humming sound? Do you hear birds singing outside, or children off in the distance? Are people speaking near you? What are their tones like? Take in all of this information as objectively as you can. Do not attach any personal significance to anything that you are experiencing. If you have thoughts about them, that’s okay too. Just don’t hold on too tightly to those thoughts. Acknowledge that they are there and that they exist, then let them leave your mind as you move on to focusing on other senses. Mindfulness meditation is an incredible tool. It is very calming and it can work almost immediately. One of the best things about it is how it can help us to re-train our brains during times of cyclical thought that is destructive to our well being. If we are focused on negative things and it is causing us to panic or feel upset in any way, slowing things down and focusing on the present moment is a great way for us to begin to stop staying stuck in that cycle and regain some control over our emotional state of mind. It can bring us equilibrium when it seems like it is almost impossible to find. The best part about it is how simple it is to practice it. There are no advanced body poses involved, no uncomfortable hand gestures or requirements to light candles and listen to calming music, though if those things are at your disposal and you choose to utilize them, then that can also be great. The perks to mindfulness meditation involve accessibility and the fact that all you need to do it successfully is yourself. It can pull you out of difficult or dark thoughts and help to break your mind free from the cages that have been placed on it by bad experiences. Mindfulness meditation is one of the most recommended by therapists, because it truly works to help us to heal from trauma and stay more mindful in our lives. It can be very easy for us to just zone out and tune out the world around us when things get difficult, or if we are triggered and upset by a situation. This is called disassociation, and it is sometimes a major problem for anyone who has endured a lot of suffering or who is overwhelmed by the world around them. Using mindfulness meditation is a good way to help those people to ground themselves during difficult emotional situations so they can continue to function in the world rather than getting locked up or wanting to shut down and feeling horrible for the rest of the day. It is also a great option for anybody who experiences panic attacks or major anxiety disorders. When we are in a panic, our brains seem to go a hundred miles a minute in directions that can often prove to be less than productive. It can be debilitating and scary, and going into fight or flight mode is something we generally want to avoid. We want to maintain all of our mind power so that we can make solid, informed decisions, not choices based on fear and emotional overload. Utilizing mindfulness meditations when you sense yourself being triggered into an anxiety attack or anything else that is similar will help to pull you out of that panicked state and calm your mind so that you are no longer as overwhelmed by the situations you have found yourself in. Everybody can benefit from mindfulness meditation, not just those who might find themselves overwhelmed at times. It can even just be a nice practice to remember that the world around us exists and we are a part of it. We are all on the same planet, working toward being our best selves and taking the steps we need to take toward achieving our goals. Some of us may be stuck sometimes, but mindfulness meditation is a great way to cut through the things that are holding us back and get ourselves back on track! Have you ever had one of those days where you are just mad at the world? Nothing seems to be going right and you just can’t help but feel angry, no matter how much you just wish you could be happy? Do you find yourself prone to irritation or restlessness? Is there someone you may fight with a lot and you just wish for nothing more than to have more peace in your life or home? We all have days where we feel frustrated and angry and may lose sight of the things we love in lieu of focusing on negativity. Unfortunately, the mind has a negativity bias that can make it very difficult to remain optimistic and often filters out good information while remembering the bad. Fortunately, loving kindness meditation is an option that can allow you to become more focused on peace and love and gratitude rather than finding yourself overwhelmed by the bad things that may be going on in your life. Loving kindness meditation is simple, it is all about intention. You have to put the time in to really begin embracing yourself and doing things that will help to promote calmness and peace in your life. Loving kindness meditation provides its participants to engage more with feelings of calmness rather than letting the tumultuous waves of negativity control your interactions. In order to practice loving kindness meditation, the first thing you will need to do is make some time during the day for it. It doesn’t take long to complete this meditation, so begin with just a few minutes set aside for this practice. The next step is to fake it til you make it. Essentially, what you are going to want to do is to summon thoughts of being surrounded by calm and loving energy. Think of the things that make you the most happy, and bring to mind the memories you may have of feeling those comforting feelings throughout your life. You do not need to think of the people involved, because the key is in learning to summon those loving kindness feelings for yourself no matter what the situation may be. However, if you find that associating someone or something specific helps you, then feel free to do whatever you feel is necessary to bring those good feelings to blanket you as you meditate. Once you have made yourself comfortable, in a quiet space, with your eyes closed, then you can begin to try and bring those feelings of loving kindness around you until they have surrounded your body like a warm blanket. If you like to use music during your meditation practices, you can also do this. Whatever you need to summon those thoughts of loving kindness. Next, think of a few phrases you can use as you meditate and focus on those. Something like, “May I find peace,” or “May I receive love,” will help you to program your mind to receive positive energies. Instead of fixating on bad things or feeling overwhelmed by unpleasant emotions, instead you can begin to focus on healing thoughts that are meant to provide you with comfort and support rather than the difficult void that negative feelings can sometimes leave us in. Rather than feeling suck in things like resentment and anger, using loving kindness meditations we can begin to tune ourselves in to loving energies any time we need them. This can help us to avoid confrontation and deal with issues that arise with an air of compassion and peace rather than combativeness. Everybody deserves to be heard, and if we are angry there is usually a good reason for it and we should be able to express those things. however, doing so in a way that others will be receptive to is very important, which is why loving kindness meditations can be so productive. This is another meditation that has been proven to help those who have suffered from depression, anxiety, or even post traumatic stress disorder. Being able to disengage from negative energies and actively summon positive energies is an incredibly useful tool. It can make all the difference between a peaceful life and interaction and one that is full of strife and conflict. The best part about it is that we begin to feel more compassion for ourselves. Many of us are too hard on ourselves for the things we perceive as faults or flaws or wrong doings. That can lead us into vicious cycles of self-hatred and abuse toward ourselves that can be difficult to get out of and can even sometimes lead to addiction. By practicing the art of showing compassion to everyone and everything, starting from within, we are giving ourselves a chance to heal from old wounds we may not even realize have been festering for years. This can help us to tackle new projects with a renewed sense of initiative and integrity. It can help us to get the bounce back in our step and believe that we are truly capable of achieving the things we set out to do. Say good bye to depression, and hello to a compassionate mindset that can lead to more productivity than you have managed in years! A lot of people find that the idea of meditation is daunting because they have a hard time with sitting still and clearing their minds. Many of us like to be active and stay busy, and feel that maybe sitting around in silence is a waste of time. While that is arguable, those that truly believe this to be true may find that there are more benefits for them in practicing Kundalini yoga meditations over other types of meditation.

Estrogenic chemicals are found in everything from shampoos, to Tupperware, to makeup. They include parabens (used as preservatives), placenta extracts and more. So what’s so bad about this? Well essentially, it increases the amount of estrogen in the body. For men, this is particularly bad news as it means lower muscle mass, more body fat, lower sperm count and possibly even depression, lethargy and infertility! Many of these compounds are even found to be carcinogens, meaning that they increase the likelihood of developing breast cancer specifically in men and women. 2 Aluminum Aluminum is found in a large number of different products, including antiperspirants and some makeups. Aluminum works by temporarily blocking the skin’s sweat ducts but it can be absorbed into the skin where it will also have estrogen-like effects. 3 Parfum Parfum is a catch-all that describes a large number of synthetic compounds used to add ‘fragrance’ to our products. That means products that are specifically designed to be fragrances and it also means other things like shampoos and fabric softeners. These products are well known to cause a range of problems including headaches, dizziness, rashes, skin discoloration and more. Some studies also suggest that they can affect the central nervous system and lead to mood disorders such as anxiety and depression. 4 Phthalates Phthalates are very difficult to avoid and are found in everything from body lotions to nail polishes and hair sprays. These are used to strengthen the parfums and introduce more issues all of their own – including reproductive problems and an increased risk of breast cancer. Why do companies insist of adding artificial scents to their products when there are so many fantastic smelling essential oils out there already? 5 DEA, TEA and MEA This sounds like the name of Nickelodeon program about three twins… In fact though, these three products are additives found in cosmetics such as sunscreens, moisturisers and foundations. They are used to act as surfactants, which are well known to combine with nitrates to form nitrosamines – potential carcinogens. This is quite ironic because some research suggests that a number of natural sunblocks may actually slightly increase your risk of skin cancer. Repeated application of DEA is also shown to cause liver and kidney damage in animals. 6 Led Led was removed from school pencils long ago because it was found to cause a number of health issues. And yet it is still commonplace in your makeup… 7 Ammonia Ammonia is found in a lot of cleaning products and is a powerful irritant that can cause headaches and breathing problems. It’s almost always inhaled during use and it can lead to bronchitis and asthma in the most serious cases. This is maddening too, seeing as baking soda and vinegar can clean most surfaces just fine! 8 Fluoride Fluoride is found in toothpastes and is very effective in preventing tooth decay. Unfortunately, though, it’s also strong enough to actually cause damage to the enamel and it’s something that you’re better off avoiding where possible unless you want to experience ‘mottling’ or ‘fluorosis’. This is especially true seeing as there’s also lots of fluoride added to our water! The golden rule to remember here is that anything that comes into contact with your skin, or anything that you inhale, will eventually enter your blood stream. If you wouldn’t feel comfortable eating it, then don’t rub it on your body or spread it around your house! And we were just scratching the surface here too – we hadn’t even gotten to chlorine, triclosan or the many harmful food additives out there… More Reasons to Go Organic Another reason to go organic is simply that organic products tend to work better. In the place of potentially harmful substances, companies are now instead forced to use natural ingredients that help to nourish and heal the skin. That’s hugely preferable and far more effective at providing stronger skin for longer. Instead of burning away the top layer of oil for instance and potentially destroying your natural skin barrier, an organic product would use substances that help to health the hormone balance of the skin to naturally fix those oil levels. Which sounds like it would get better long-term results? Finally, organic products are kinder to the environment AND your wallet. Instead of ordering products that have been mass produced at a factory that billows smoke into the air, you’ll be using products made from natural ingredients you can find around your home. Many of these you don’t even need to buy – you can just make them yourself! Chapter 2 Organic Skin Care – Nutrition and Rejuvenation Where to begin? When many people think of beauty, they think of the skin. Smooth, porcelain skin is a hallmark of health and beauty. It also reduces the need for other harmful products that are used to mask bad skin, allowing you to enjoy a much more natural and healthy glow. In this chapter, we’ll explore some organic strategies for creating healthier skin. Organic Facials and Face Masks The whole idea of facial masks is to help nourish the skin, soothe the individual and help to improve skincare while alleviating stress. It’s a nice idea, so it’s just a shame then that so often these products include harmful, synthetic ingredients that can trigger allergic reactions, damage the skin and potentially even cause other, more serious health problems. Fortunately, it’s possible to make your own organic mask and to give yourself a natural facial at home. This is the perfect introduction to organic beauty, so it’s a great place for us to start.

Now that you have a better idea of what YouTube is about conceptually, let’s learn a little bit more about the history of this incredible site. In the next section we’ll provide you a small history of YouTube, so you have a better sense of where it came from and where it may go. Hold onto your hats… Part I – The History of YouTube Technology affords us new and interesting abilities every day. YouTube.com is just one example of how technology is helping us in our endeavors. By now you probably have a high-level of interest in finding out more about YouTube. Before we talk more about getting in on YouTube and making it work for you, let’s review YouTube’s brief history, as it is. YouTube was “born” from the creative minds of former PayPal employees. YouTube first became active on February 15, 2005i. As you can see, despite its enormous success the site is still in its infancy. The start-up found funding in the form of venture capital from Sequioa Capital, raising $3.5 million dollars for the site.ii The venture capital firm later invested another $8million dollars into the company, helping spur its popularity during the last year and a half. This just shows you how attractive YouTube’s business model was and how many people instantly recognized the promise this site had to offer. Today many refer to YouTube.com as the, “fastest growing website on the web,”iii “YouTube is one of the fastest growing Web 2.0 sites to make history today.” Over 100 million visitors watch clips each day. By some reports, over 60,000 people upload videos within a single day. YouTube did face many copyright infringement lawsuits, one reason it agreed to the huge settlement deal with Google. Who Uses YouTube? Everyone. Even your local politician. Yes, it’s true, political candidates and fans alike now use YouTube as an informal medium for advertising. Barack Obama is one of a few candidates that have a large fan base on YouTube. Many political commentators are joining in, realizing millions may hear their voice and message, and even internationally candidates are using YouTube as a platform to market their campaign and platforms. YouTube restricts individuals from sending material with known copyrights. Therefore, NBC was among the first to ask YouTube to remove clips of material including material from the 2006 Olympics, obviously uploaded to the site. YouTube imposed several extra cautionary measures, including limiting video clips to a brief 10-minute tape. This lessened much of NBCs concerns, but added to YouTube’s popularity. Think about it… word of mouth is one of the best ways to promote anything. Interestingly enough, NBC eventually retracted its criticisms and instead decided to collaborate with the company. Many others are likely to follow suit. YouTube you see, is an exceptional outlet for promoting just about anyone. The first thing that you need to understand before adopting this new lifestyle is what exactly is "minimalism"? And how does it look in practice? What Does Minimalist Living Look Like? Before we answer this question, let’s just reiterate the fact that minimalist living is nothing new. It’s something that has been around for a very long time. Monks and nuns from centuries ago chose to live with only the absolute essentials in their lives so that they could focus on their faith and become closer to a supreme power. They found that, by eschewing everyday luxuries, they could develop a greater understanding of themselves and their beliefs. Yet, these days, things are very different. Very few people are living this kind of basic and simple lifestyle. Most of us have fallen into a trap of wanting more than just the basics. We have fallen prey to the media and marketers’ message that the secret to a happy life is to own more by having more of everything; more money, more success, more possessions and more technology. Yet, those of us who seek to accrue an endless stream of possessions usually come to learn over time that the promise of happiness that advertisers dangle in front of us couldn’t be more false. The real secret to finding happiness and peace is to think in terms of subtraction rather than addition. Less is more when it comes to finding satisfaction in life and peace of mind. Essentially, at its core, minimalism is all about living with less. While that can be taken literally as having fewer possessions, it has more far-reaching implications for the way that you live your life. The concept behind minimalist living is learning to identify the things which are important and then focusing down on those things while eradicating everything else which is deemed to be unimportant from your life. The Misunderstandings About Minimalist Living As you might imagine, there is a lot of misunderstandings about what minimalist living really means. Many people think that it means you can’t own a home or have a car. Others think that you’re restricted to only having as many possessions as you can fit into a small backpack or bag. None of this is true. In fact, minimalism could best be described as intentionally promoting anything that you most value while removing anything which brings no value into your life. It is a concept that resonates differently with every individual. While for some, that may mean a great degree of elimination, for others, it may be much less extreme but no less beneficial. The principle of minimalist living is to remove anything which could be considered as clutter from your everyday existence. This clutter may be physical, in the form of possessions that you simply don’t require, or it may be emotional or mental, for example, in the form of toxic relationships that are causing you unhappiness or stressful situations in which you find yourself. It means that you adjust your mindset and, in so doing, learn how you can live your life not only with greater purpose but also with greater peace. What is a Life of Intentionality? When you opt for a minimalist lifestyle, you’re opting for a life of intentionality. What does this mean? It means that you’re intentionally making time, space and room for all the things which you love and value, while simultaneously eliminating all that could distract you from really enjoying and appreciating those things to the max. You’re opting for a lifestyle in which you intentionally choose which possessions you should own and what you’re going to do with them for yourself without relying on convention or pressure from external forces. You’re also choosing how that will impact on your way of thinking and living, and how it will change your perspective on your own life. It may seem like an unusual concept. After all, we’re more used to following the herd and accepting what everyone else does as the norm. However, if you take this way of living onboard, you’ll be surprised at the benefits you can reap. Minimalism brings with it a host of benefits which are well known to those who practice this way of living. Those who extol its virtues say that minimalist living is an effective tool to help you to find freedom from worry, fear, guilt, and depression. With around a quarter of us suffering from mental health issues at any one time, it’s no wonder that so many people are now questioning whether minimalist living could be the right way to go. So, could you benefit from making these changes in your life? Here, you can learn more about how switching to a more minimalistic approach to everyday life can help you to enjoy greater freedom, to improve your relationships, to become more successful in your professional life and, most importantly, to experience greater satisfaction and happiness across all areas of your life daily. Chapter 2 - What Kind of Freedom Can Minimalist Living Bring? When you adopt a minimalist lifestyle, one of the greatest benefits that you will experience is a strong sense of freedom. While this freedom stems from losing the drive to possess more things, it has significantly far-reaching implications that spread through all aspects of your everyday life. This freedom comes in many forms, some of which will be quite unexpected but no less welcomed. Fewer Possessions Firstly, minimalism means that you’ll own fewer possessions. This, in turn, frees you from the drive to accrue more of them over time. When you live intentionally with just the things you most need by getting rid of the distractions that excess possessions can bring, you can put more of your focus onto the things in your life that matter most. Once you’re free from the passion to own more, you’ll be surprised by the pleasure that this can bring you. You’ll be stepping off the consumerism treadmill and looking for the source of your happiness elsewhere. Where will you find that happiness? The answer will vary depending on your own life and circumstances. However, you’ll almost certainly find the joy that you’re seeking in your relationships, your experiences and your self-care. When you learn to value what you’ve already got, you’ll also be reminded to be more grateful for the things you have and, in that gratitude, you’ll find that your life is infinitely more abundant than it was, even when you could have a house-full of possessions. Freedom from Frantic Modern Life Another freedom that minimalism brings you is a release from the mania of modern living. The world today is running at a breakneck pace. We’re all rushed, stressed and hurried. We feel obliged to work long hours so we can pay our bills and we fall into debt as we try to keep up with the neighbors. We also find that we’re endlessly rushing between activities, multi-tasking instead of appreciating the experiences we’re living through, while still struggling to accomplish anything worthwhile.
