Household Energy Use

1. Keep your furnace running efficiently. Your furnace is the most expensive appliance in your house to run. In fact household heating accounts for 60% of all energy used in the average home. Make sure it is operating as efficiently as possible by replacing its filter every two months. A great option is to purchase one of the reusable filters that can be washed on a regular basis. You’ll pay more for them but they last for years so in the end they cost less than disposable filters. The few minutes it will take you to properly care for your furnace can increase its energy efficiently by as much as 50 per cent.

2. Install a programmable thermostat. Heating and cooling your house when no one is home – or when everyone is in bed – uses an unnecessary amount of energy. This is bad for the environment and bad for your checkbook! Instead of wasting that energy, buy a programmable thermostat and set the temperature to be several degrees cooler (or warmer in the summer) during the night and when the house is empty. You can easily have it back to the temperature you like by the time you wake up or arrive home.

3. Wrap your hot water heater in a blanket. Every hardware store sells fiberglass blankets that you can wrap around your hot water tank to help it hold in heat. They are easily installed (you can do it yourself) and usually pay for themselves in the first year of use.

4. Opt for a tankless hot water solution. If your hot water tank is getting old and you’re considering replacing it, choose one of the new tankless hot water options. They heat water as you need it instead of keeping an entire tank heated and ready to go at all times. As a result they use significantly less energy, which is better for the environment. And an added bonus is that you can expect to save about 50% on your hot water heating costs.

5. Keep your house cool naturally. Closing the blinks and curtains and using ceiling fans can dramatically decrease the temperature of your home during the heat of the summer. If you must use air conditioning, keep it at 75F and reserve its use only for the hottest days. A programmable thermostat is a great option to raise the temperature during the night and when no one is home.

Affiliate Marketing – How Really Competitive It Is

When you watch a football game on TV, you can easily see how games are won or lost in the battle that takes place on the line of scrimmage. Offensive plays are designed to protect the quarterback and/or to open up holes in the defense so that yardage can be gained.

Defensive plays are designed to sack the quarterback or close holes that would allow yardage to be gained. Quarterbacks and coaches get the credit for wins and blame for losses but the battle is won or lost in the trenches.

Affiliate marketing is a lot like a football game just without the bruises and sore muscles. An affiliate marketer must design offensive plays and defensive plays that will put him in a position to win the affiliate wars.

When you are one of many marketers who are trying to sell the very same product to the very same consumers, you had better have a plan to get at least your fair share of the market or more.

Every niche market on the Internet is highly competitive. If it isn’t competitive then there can’t possibly be much of a customer base to sell to. That is just the nature of all Internet marketing and in every niche.

Maybe you do have a long and impressive list of paid customers. That’s great! It means you have already won several of the affiliate marketing contests and come out on top. The problem is there are always those up and coming marketers who want your customers on their lists.

Your list and your competitor’s lists may well contain many of the same names and email addresses. Just having a list will not be enough to assure you of a victory when selling an affiliate product. You have to design some offensive plays that will assure that your customers buy from you and not from your competitors.

So, you ask, what is it that I can do that will assure that my customers will buy from me? The answer is just one word... unique!

Unfortunately, many people were unable to qualify for a loan to purchase their own home due to their credit. Looking at my clients’ financial situations, I realized that most people lacked even the most essential financial knowledge. Things that I thought were so basic and necessary to qualify for a good loan, like having a good credit score, paying bills on time or not carrying a lot of credit card debt relative to your income to most people were revelations. I will never forget a couple that came into my office looking to refinance their house. Tom and Maria needed to lower their mortgage payment. Although they had two jobs each, they had a hard time coming up with the monthly payment. Tom even told me that he was considering looking for a third job that he could do for a few hours a week but he couldn’t find one that could fit his already tight schedule. They had 4 kids and a ton of credit card debt. Due to their low FICO (credit) score I could not find them a program that would fit their financial situation. After looking at their finances, I knew I had to help them somehow. It broke my heart to see the way they were living. They didn’t see their kids much, relying on relatives to take care of them while they were working, sometimes for over 12 hours a day. I found myself teaching them how to pay off their debt. I showed them which credit cards they should be paying off first, I explained to them what compound interest is and how it was being used against them, and wrote down a detailed debt repayment plan. When they left my office, they were hopeful and relieved, since now they had a plan to get out of their financial challenge. I did not create this plan I teach today; I learned it, mastered it and taught countless people how to apply it successfully in order to change their financial situation. Another couple wanted to buy a $400,000 house. They had a combined income of $56,000 a year. They were both driving brand new cars, (they had paid $60,000 for those cars only a few months earlier) and their monthly car payments were just under $1200. On top of that, they also had $29,000 in credit card debt. Their mortgage monthly payment would have been $3,450. Incredibly, they couldn’t understand why they were not approved for a loan. A lady who came to me for advice admitted that the previous month she had been so upset with her husband for buying himself a new truck that she went to the dealership and bought herself a brand new car. Now they are having trouble paying for both cars. These and many similar situations made me realize that most people were not taking credit seriously. And the main reason was that they did not know exactly how credit works. But that’s only one part of the equation. The other part is that we live in such a consumerist society that no matter what you do or

You can now enjoy constant correspondence with friends from all parts of the world without ever having to leave your seat. In many ways, social networking is much better than all other forms of communication put together because of the wealth of information that can be exchanged in a very short time For instance, you can keep in touch with a friend who is travelling around the world; you can use smartphones to chat and the occasional video stream when said friend comes across something whose beauty cannot be aptly put into words e.g. a sunset, a colorful festival etc. This will allow you to experience a part of the world you never knew existed without ever having to heave your house. People have really taken to this form of instant communication, something that’s seen in the fact that social networks are the largest growing types of websites around. The growth of social networking has been accelerated by the fact that the programmers design very intuitive interfaces that allow people with virtually no prior online experience to easily become experts. While this in itself is a good thing, it causes people to ignore what is happening in the background. This is better explained with an illustration: Margret sits in front of her computer, switches it on and loads her browser. She then loads the URLs for her preferred social networks, logs into her accounts and starts communicating with her friends. These communications involve uploads of pictures and videos, commenting on her friends’ posts, making her own posts and the like. She then realizes that John, her globetrotting brother is currently online. She loads the instant messenger and John decides to show her the Roman coliseum using the inbuilt video feature on his smartphone. While this real time online tour is going on she decides to read up on the news. Being a news junkie, she has added all the fan pages of popular news outlets to her friends list so that she can get all important updates without having to go to all individual sites. So far so good. While she is immensely enjoying herself, all the information being transmitted through cyberspace is available to all her friends and the owners and administrators of the servers. Since she is not web savvy, she thinks (much to her detriment) that the persons handling her information are intrinsically benevolent. What she does not realize is that most social networks need money to run their servers, pay the employees, satisfy funders, and improve the architecture, R&D and the like. This means that they (social networks) find ways of selling off user information. This therefore means that within no time, she will start noticing ads about travel, news aggregators and all other things she showed an interest in, even in passing. Unbeknown to her, her naivety sets her up as the perfect victim for the numerous cyber stalkers and trolls always on the prowl.

Introduction Credit Repair is defined as a method of disputing or rectifying discrepancies presented on credit bureau reports in order to obtain the highest and most exact ratings for consumers. Among the most crucial matters to think back is regarding credit problems and this also means you're not the only one who is suffering from bad credit. On the other side, there are millions of honorable, hard-working people from all around the country who are presently experiencing or have suffered troubles with their credit too. However, your awareness of the importance of having good credit has put you one step closer to actually achieving a good credit rating and improving your quality of living. Even though your credit rating may seem like an intangible asset, it is one of the most valuable and important assets that you have. Without a good credit rating your financial, occupational, and personal goals are at risk of being severely limited. In order to obtain the privilege of using a credit card, your credit rating is checked. If a company determines your credit to be unsatisfactory, you will be denied. From the moment you are denied, your quality of living is impeded. If you can't get a credit card, you can't rent a car, order tickets, or even rent a video. Because your credit rating was determined to be unsatisfactory, most companies will not let you use their money. Today more than ever, many businesses perform routine background checks during the hiring process. Once again, if your credit rating reveals something of concern to them, you can be turned away for employment. Since maintaining a good credit rating is important in today's society, a poor credit rating can have a negative snowball effect toward your personal goals. Good, string credit allows you to live with financial security and enables you to purchase items without depleting your life savings.
